The insulation shall reach up to the
terminal. The conductor itself shall not be
damaged.
The minimum and maximum conductor cross
sections that can be connected shall be
observed (see technical data).
All screws and/or nuts of connection
terminals, including those not in use, shall be
tightened down securely.
Battery
Excessive tightening can affect the
connection..
The built-in standard terminals or terminal
points are designed for the direct connection
of conductors with copper wires.
- To connect the explosion-protected
emergency pack, open the connection box
with the square spanner provided.
- Feed the supply and connection
conductors of the consumer through the
Ex e cable entry (KLE) and tighten the
KLE with the thrust screw (see Technical
Battery
Data for torque).
- Seal unused cable entries with approved
blanking plugs.
- Connect conductors in accordance with
Fig. 3
- When using an Emergency Units with the
order no. GHG 660 19.. R...1, a plug-in
jumper (1 1 1 1 1 ) can plug in as shown in Fig. 4
for optional operation the light luminaire
with mains voltage (Fig 4).
- Insert the plug-in jumper, which is supplied
in a plastic bag, in accordance with Fig. 5.
i i i i i The voltage converter is now ready for
operation.
Before initial operation, any foreign
matter shall be removed from the
apparatus.
- Close the cover of the connection box.
- Switch on mains supply.
- The green signal lamp „Mains/Supply
voltage available" is on.

apparatus shall be checked in accordance
with these operating instructions and other
applicable regulations.
- Apply mains voltage.
- To charge the battery, leave the explosion-

protected emergency pack switched on
for 24 hours.
- Then, by isolating the supply voltage, test
the changeover to the emergency lighting
mode together with the connected
apparatus.

Yellow signal lamp is on.
- The connected apparatus can be switched
off during emergency lighting or mains
operation by means of the built-in ON/OFF
switch of the explosion-protected
emergency pack.

Maintenance / Servicing
The valid national regulations for the
servicing / maintenance of electrical
apparatus for use in potentially explosive
atmospheres shall be observed
(EN 60079-17, EN 60079-19).
Before opening the enclosure ensure that
no potentially explosive atmosphere is
present.
Prior to opening the enclosure, it is
necessary to ensure that the voltage
supply has been isolated or to take
suitable protective measures.
Even after disconnection, due to the
battery, the built-in components of the
emergency pack can still be live.
The mains voltage is not
disconnected by the built-in ON/OFF
switch in the explosion-protected
emergency pack.
The necessary intervals between servicing
depend upon the specific application and
shall be stipulated by the operator according
to the respective operating conditions.
Unless more frequent testing is specified, the
function of the emergency pack shall be
tested once a month.
- If the ambient temperature is constantly less
than -0°C, a function test (see Section 6.3)
shall be carried out more frequently.
7.1
Maintenance of flameproof
enclosure
Visual inspection of the cover thread.
The thread shall not be treated or varnished!
Grease the cover thread before screwing the
enclosure cover into the flameproof
enclosure, preferably with grease type:
Renocal, Unitemp 2, -50°C to +100° C, FN 745/
94, DIN VW TL 745.
In the event of damage to the flameproof
encapsulation, replacement of these
components is mandatory. In case of
doubt, the respective apparatus shall be
sent to Cooper Crouse-Hinds / CEAG for
repair.
