Qualification of personnel
The Nordforest wood splitter may only be operated, maintained and
serviced by persons who have been familiarised with the machine and
the associated hazards by reading this manual.
People who assemble, operate, disassemble or maintain the wood
splitter must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication
which could impair their reactions.
People under the age of 18 must not be employed on splitting
machines. However, it is permissible to allow persons over 16 years of
age to perform such work under the supervision of a qualified person
where this is required to achieve a training objective.

It is essential to follow the instructions in this manual to avoid
hazards and material damage.

Observe the relevant accident prevention regulations as well as the
other generally accepted safety, occupational health and road traffic
regulations.
›
Only perform servicing, setup, maintenance and cleaning work, as
well as transport of the machine with the drive switched off and the
tool at a standstill.
›
Only operate the wood splitter with the protective equipment fitted
or intended by the manufacturer.
›
Never leave the wood splitter unattended when in operation.
›
Wear a hairnet to cover long hair when working with the wood
splitter.
Safety instructions regarding the workplace
›
Make sure that the working area around the wood splitter and the
route for transporting the wood back and forth are safe.
›
Make sure that the working area is clear of wood scraps, obstacles
and objects likely to cause tripping. Eliminate any slippery and
smooth areas. To do so, either use sawdust or wood ash, otherwise
there is a risk of slipping.
