SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should
always be followed, including the following:
Connect machine to a properly grounded outlet only. See
grounding instructions.
Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when
not in use and before servicing.
Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary
when used by or near children.
Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufactures
recommended attachments and chemicals.
Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working
as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water, return to an authorized service center.
Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on
a cord, or pull cord around sharp edged or corners.
Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated
surfaces. Contact your service representative.
Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not
the cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening
blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce
air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away
from openings and moving parts.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
Do not use without dust bag and/or filter in place. Turn off all
controls before unplugging. Use extra care when cleaning on
stairs.
Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as
gasoline or use in areas where they may be present.
This machine is also suitable for commercial use, for example, in
hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops and offices for more
than normal housekeeping purposes.
Maintenance and repairs must be done by qualified personnel.
Rotating fan blades inside cover. Before opening cover, switch off
machine. Wait until the fan/brush stops completely or dust and
debris may be ejected.
If foam or liquid comes out of machine, switch off immediately.
This machine is not suitable for picking up health endangering
dust.
This appliance has been designed for use with brushes specified
by the manufacturer. The fitting of other brushes may affect its
safety.
Power cords must be inspected regularly for signs of damage,
and replace if damaged.

The Expert is a main powered, portable carpet extractor
intended for commercial use. The appliance sprays a
cleaning solution onto the carpet, agitates the wet carpet,
and then extracts the soiled solution back into the units
recovery tank. The appliance can be fitted with an
accessory tool for cleaning upholstery and stairs.
INSPECTION
Carefully unpack and inspect your extractor for shipping damage.
Each unit is operated and thoroughly inspected before shipping,
and any damage is the responsibility of the carrier, who should be
notified immediately.
ELECTRICAL
This extractor operates on a standard 230 Volt AC circuit.
Voltages below 220 Volts or above 240 Volts could cause
damage to motor. Wiring diagram is mounted inside control panel
of machine.

EXTENSION CORDS

If an extension cord is used, the wire size must be at least one
size larger than the power cord on the machine, and must be
limited to 50 feet (15.15m) in length. NOTE: If the power supply
cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by a
special cord.
This appliance is provided with a connector lock which locks
the power supply cord to the machine. To remove the power
supply cord remove the splashguard cover. Then insert a
small screwdriver into the screw on the bottom of the
connector lock to loosen the power supply cord. Gently pull
the power supply cord from the appliance. Place the
splashguard around the new power supply cord and insert
the power supply cord connector into the appliance inlet.
Tighten the screw on the bottom of the connector into the
appliance inlet. Tighten the screw on the bottom of the
connector lock. Then fasten the splashguard onto the
appliance.

WARNING:
Care must be exercised in the use of all chemicals.
Chemicals are poisonous and can pose a health risk. Read
and follow the manufactures instructions regarding dangers
and correct usage.

CAUTION:
The internal parts of the pump used in the extractor are suitable
for use with most carpet cleaning chemicals. But they are
susceptible to chemical attack from some cleaning substances,
such as hydrocarbon solvents and chlorinated bleaches. These
non compatible materials are not of the type used for carpet
cleaning.
