14. Troubleshooting

The weather station is a product which was built according to the state of the art in
technology and is reliable. Nonetheless, errors and malfunctions may occur. Please
review the following for information on troubleshooting should problems occur.
No reception of the transmission signal of the external sensor
• The distance between the weather station and external sensor is too great. Change
the installation site of the weather station or external sensor.
• Objects or screening materials (metalized insulating glass window, reinforced
concrete etc.) hinder radio reception.
• The weather station is too close to other electronic devices (TVs, computer). Change
the installation site of the weather station.
• The batteries of the external sensor and/or weather station are weak. Replace the
batteries as described before.
• Very low external temperatures (under -20 °C) reduce the performance of batteries.
Please wait until the temperatures rise again.
• Another transmitter on the same or neighbouring frequency interferes with the radio
signal of the external sensor. It possibly helps here to reduce the distance between
the weather station and external sensor.
No DCF reception
• The external sensor is installed near to other electronic devices or near electrical
cables. Select another installation site and also ensure the correct alignment.
• It can take up to 10 minutes to receive and evaluate the DCF signal on starting up the
weather station.
• If you wait until the next day the weather station should display the DCF time and
date.
