4.2 Attention
Positioning the unit
The rear side of the unit must be at least 10 cm away from the wall to avoid blocking the air outlet
of the built-in fan. Insuffi cient cooling may affect the service life of the lights!
The unit will only function properly if all components are in perfect condition. The components need
to be checked thoroughly before using the unit.
Repair should only be carried out by service staff (technicians) authorized by bredent. Unplug the
unit fi rst.
Function check/Power supply
Make sure that...
• no components of the unit are damaged
• the unit or accessories are free from residue or contamination
• defective accessories or components are replaced
• the plug and the insulation of the power cord are not damaged
• the mains plug and the socket must be compatible.
• the unit should always be placed on a suitable flat and stable surface.
Protect eyes!
The light in the interior is automatically switched off only after the drawer has been slightly opened.
Since the light is very intense, we recommend to take a very short look into the interior at this
moment.
Reflected light may cause injuries to the retina.
If required, wear safety goggles with a suitable filter.
Hot surfaces!
The temperature in the light-curing chamber will increas when the unit is operated for longer times
at a light output of 80 - 100 % . Remove the objects with suitable tweezers.
Unit fuse - Exchanging the microfuse!
If the unit can not be switched on any longer, please check the function of the fuse.
Switch the unit off fi rst!
Inserting the fuse at the rear of the unit.
The fuse holder is located between the On/Off switch and the power plug in the cold-device plug at
the rear of bre.Lux PowerUnit 2 and can be removed if the unit is switched off (use an instrument/
tool for easier removal). Check whether the metal fi lament of the removed fuse is broken.
If the fi lament is broken, remove the spare fuse from the second socket and place it into the fi rst
socket that faces the interior of the unit. Then reinsert the fuse holder in the middle of the cold-
device plug. Switch the unit on and check proper function - if the display is not activated and/or
programs are not started/running, please send the unit to bredent.
Materials and liquids
Water and other liquids must not penetrate into the unit to avoid potential short circuits and corro-
sion. Use only standard dental materials suitable for processing in light-curing units. Do not use any
fl ammable or explosive liquids inside the light-curing chamber!
Do not use any aggressive, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning the surfaces.
