Für Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung dieser Gebrauchsanweisung entstehen, lehnt der Hersteller jede

1. Produktbeschreibung
Die HELBO® 3D Pocket Probe, HELBO® 2D Spot Probe und HELBO® 3D Endo Probe (nachfolgend HELBO® Lichtleiter)
sind Kunststofflichtleiter, welche speziell für die Verwendung in Kombination mit einem HELBO® Therapielaser
(z.B. HELBO® TheraLite Laser in der Zahnmedizin) entwickelt wurden, um für die antimikrobielle Photodynamische
Therapie (aPDT) und Low Level Lasertherapie (LLLT) eingesetzt zu werden.
2. Zweckbestimmung und Anwendungsgebiet
Die HELBO® Lichtleiter sind therapeutische Medizinprodukte, welche für die vorübergehende Anwendung zur
Bestrahlung von natürlichen sowie gegebenenfalls vom Anwender geschaffenen Körperöffnungen (chirurgisch
invasiv) bestimmt sind. Die Medizinprodukte sind zum Anschluss an den geeigneten HELBO® Therapielaser mit
einer Wellenlänge von 660 nm und einer fix eingestellten Flächendosis vorgesehen.
Das Belichtungsprofll und die Anwendungsgebiete unterscheiden sich je nach Lichtleiter-Variante.

3. Anwendung
Montage/Demontage: Lichtleiter in Austrittsöffnung des HELBO® Therapielasers einführen bzw. abziehen (siehe
Abb. 1). Die erforderlichen Informationen für die Durchführung einer Laserbehandlung entnehmen Sie bitte dem
Benutzerhandbuch HELBO®TheraLite Laser bzw. HELBO® MANUAL zur aPDT/photobiologischen Laserwirkung.
4. Gegenanzeigen
Kontraindikationen für die Anwendung sind u.a. Bestrahlung von bösartigen Tumoren, des Kopfes bei Neigung zur
Epilepsie und Bestrahlung der Retina (Auge). Weitere Informationen zu Kontraindikationen in Zusammenhang mit
der Durchführung einer Laserbehandlung entnehmen Sie bitte dem Benutzerhandbuch HELBO®TheraLite Laser.
5. Warnhinweise und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
Anwendung nur durch fachkundiges Personal. Verwendung nur in Kombination mit geeignetem HELBO®
Therapielaser.
Die HELBO® Lichtleiter dürfen nicht geknickt bzw. ein geknickter HELBO® Lichtleiter darf nicht verwendet werden.
Verwendete oder beschädigte HELBO® Lichtleiter müssen ordnungsgemäß entsorgt werden.
Sobald das Produkt aus der Sterilverpackung entnommen und auf einen unsterilen Untergrund gelegt oder ohne
sterile Handschuhe an dessen Spitze berührt wurde, kann die Sterilität des Produktes nicht mehr garantiert werden.
Ein Zerbeißen oder Verschlucken der HELBO® Lichtleiter, bzw. Teile davon, soll vermieden werden. Im Falle der
Aspiration sollte durch Provokation eines Reizhustens das Produkt bzw. dessen Teil wieder ausgehustet oder durch
fachärztliche Maßnahmen entfernt werden.

6. Sonstige Hinweise
Diese Gebrauchsanweisung entspricht dem aktuellen Stand der Technik und unseren eigenen Erfahrungen. Die
Produkte dürfen nur für die beschriebenen Anwendungsgebiete verwendet werden. Der Anwender ist
für den Einsatz des Produktes selbst verantwortlich. Für fehlerhafte Ergebnisse wird nicht gehaftet, da der
Hersteller keinen Einfluss auf die Nutzung vor Ort hat. Eventuell dennoch auftretende Schadensersatzansprüche
beziehen sich ausschließlich auf den Warenwert unserer Produkte.
Alle im Zusammenhang mit dem Produkt aufgetretenen schwerwiegenden Vorfälle sind umgehend dem
Hersteller und der zuständigen Behörde des jeweiligen EU-Mitgliedstaates zu melden.

instructions for use.
1. Description of the product
HELBO® 3D Pocket Probe, HELBO® 2D Spot Probe and HELBO® 3D Endo Probe (hereinafter HELBO® light guides)
are plastic light guides which were developed especially for the use in combination with a HELBO® therapy laser
(e.g. HELBO® TheraLite Laser in dentistry) to be used for the antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy and Low-Level
Laser Therapy (LLLT).
2. Intended purpose and application area
HELBO® light guides are therapeutic medical devices intended for temporary use for irradiation of natural body
orifices and, if necessary, orifices created by the user (surgically invasive). The medical devices are intended for
connection to the appropriate HELBO® therapy laser with a wavelength of 660 nm and a fixed surface dose.
The exposure profile and areas of application differ depending on the light guide type.

3. Use
Assembly/disassembly: Insert the light guide into the output port of the HELBO® therapy laser or pull it off (see
fig. 1). Please refer to the HELBO®TheraLite Laser user manual or HELBO® MANUAL for aPDT/photobiological laser
effect for the information required to perform laser treatment.
4. Contraindications
Contraindications for use include irradiation of malignant tumors, of the head if there is a tendency to epilepsy, and
irradiation of the retina (eye). For further information on contraindications in connection with the performance of
laser treatment, please refer to the HELBO®TheraLite Laser User Manual.

5. Warnings and precautions
Application only by trained professional staff. Use only in combination with a suitable HELBO® therapy laser.
The HELBO® light guides must not be bent or a bent HELBO® light guide must not be used. Used or damaged
HELBO® light guides must be disposed of properly.
As soon as the product has been removed from the sterile packaging and placed on a non-sterile surface or the
tip has been touched without sterile gloves, the sterility of the product can no longer be guaranteed. Biting or
swallowing of the HELBO® light guides, or parts thereof, should be avoided. In case of aspiration, the product or its
part should be coughed up again by provoking an irritating cough or removed by specialist medical measures.
Please refer to the HELBO®TheraLite Laser User Manual for further instructions and warnings in connection with
the performance of laser treatment.
6. Additional information
These instructions for use are based on state-of-the-art methods and equipment and our own experience. The
products may only be used for the areas of applications described in these instructions for use. The user himself
is responsible for using the product.
No liability is accepted for incorrect results, as the manufacturer has no influence on on-site use. Any occurring
claims for damages may only be made up to the value of our products.
Any serious incidents related to the product must be immediately reported to the manufacturer and the
competent authority of the EU member state.

2. Usage prévu et domaine d'utilisation
Les fibres optiques HELBO® sont des dispositifs médicaux thérapeutiques destinés à être utilisés temporairement et
à exposer des cavités corporelles naturelles ou créées par l'utilisateur (chirurgie invasive). Ces dispositifs médicaux
sont conçus pour être utilisés en connexion avec un laser thérapeutique HELBO® adapté doté d'une longueur
d'onde de 660 nm et une dose-surface fixe.
Le mode d'exposition et les domaines d'application varient selon le type de fibre optique.

3. Utilisation
Montage/Démontage: Introduire ou retirer la fibre optique de l'orifice de sortie du laser thérapeutique HELBO®
(cf. Fig. 1). Pour les informations nécessaires à la réalisation d'un traitement laser veuillez consulter le manuel pour
utilisateurs HELBO®TheraLite Laser et / ou le manuel HELBO® pour l'aPDT/ effet laser photobiologique.
4. Contre-indications
Les contre-indications pour l'utilisation sont entre autres l'exposition de tumeurs malignes, de la tête quand le patient
est enclin à l'épilepsie et l'exposition de la rétine (yeux). Vous trouverez de plus amples informations sur les contre-
indications et la réalisation d'un traitement laser en consultant le manuel pour utilisateurs HELBO®TheraLite Laser.
5. Avertissements et mesures de précaution
Ces produits doivent exclusivement être utilisés par les personnes spécialisées. Utilisation uniquement avec le
laser thérapeutique HELBO®.
Ne pas plier les fibres optiques HELBO® et ne pas utiliser de fibres optiques HELBO® pliées. Eliminer les fibres optiques
HELBO® utilisées ou endommagées conformément à la règlementation,
Dès que le produit est retiré de son emballage stérile et posé sur un support non stérile ou dès que sa pointe entre
en contact avec un gant non stérile, la stérilité du produit ne peut plus être garantie. Éviter de mordre ou d'avaler
la fibre optique HELBO® ou l'une de ses pièces. En cas d'aspiration, le produit ou sa pièce avalée devra être rejeté(e)
par une toux d'irritation ou retiré(e) par des mesures médicales.

6. Divers
Ce mode d'emploi est basé sur les connaissances techniques actuelles et sur nos propres expériences. Les pro-
duits doivent uniquement être utilisés selon les indications décrites. L'utilisateur est lui-même responsable de
l'utilisation du produit. N'ayant aucune influence sur sa mise en œuvre, le fabricant ne saurait être tenu responsa-
ble de résultats défectueux ou non satisfaisants. Toute indemnisation éventuelle se limitera à la valeur du produit.
Tous les incidents graves qui pourraient se produire en rapport avec le produit doivent être signalés au fabricant
et / ou à l'autorité compétente de l'état membre.

1. Descrizione del prodotto
HELBO® 3D Pocket Probe, HELBO® 2D Spot Probe e HELBO® 3D Endo Probe (di seguito denominate fibre ottiche
HELBO®) sono fibre ottiche in plastica, che sono state appositamente ideate per essere utilizzate in combinazione con
il laser terapeutico HELBO® (p.es. HELBO® TheraLite Laser in odontoiatria), per la terapia fotodinamica antimicrobica
(aPDT) e la laser-terapia a bassa intensità (LLLT).
2. Destinazione d'uso e campo d'applicazione
Le fibre ottiche HELBO® sono dispositivi medici terapeutici, indicate per un uso temporaneo, per irradiare, con la
luce laser, orefizi naturali o ferite chirurgiche (chirurgia invasiva). Questi dispositivi medici sono previsti per essere
inseriti sull'apposito laser terapeutico HELBO® con una lunghezza d'onda di 660 nm e un raggio d'azione sulle
superfici, calibrato in modo stabile.
Il tipo di irradiazione e il campo d'applicazione differiscono in base al tipo di fibra ottica utilizzata.
