MATERIALS:
A 1 Crossbar
B 2 Sidearm
C 2 Nut Strap
X 6 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolt, Lock washer & Flat washer
Y 4 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolt & Nyloc Nut
ZE 1 Electrical Plate
ZN 1 Chosen Neck Option
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball, which
dimensionally conforms to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
FITTING:
1. Remove the bumper. Open the boot lid and remove 2 screws that are exposed. Remove fixings from within the wheel
arch (4 each side). Remove the plastic undertray from the RH side (plastic fixings and a nut). Detach the LH undertray
from the bumper (plastic fixings). Remove the bolts attaching the crash beam to the vehicle rear panel (2 each side).
Unclip the electrics connecting the bumper to the vehicle. Starting at bumper tips carefully peel the bumper from its
plastic fasteners. Once free from the fasteners slide the bumper and connected crash beam rearward away from the
vehicle body.
2. Locate the three mounting points along the outer edges of the chassis rails, remove any tape covering the holes and
remove any mastic obstructing fitment. Re-protecting the chassis with an anti-rust application is recommended.
3. Place Nut Straps (C) into the chassis openings ready to secure Sidearms (B). Position the Sidearms on the outer face
of the chassis with Nut Straps aligned, loosely secure using fixings (X).
4. Loosely attach the Crossbar (A) to the Sidearms using fixings (Y).
5. Align the Sidearms and Crossbar and fully tighten to their correct torque settings.
6. Remove the plastic central bumper beam arm that connects to the bumper (one screw). Reposition the electric socket
from the bottom of the LH bumper beam arm (by unclipping fixings), and, using the cable tie provided, strap to the top
face of the same arm.
7. In some cases, the plastic lump that the plastic bumper beam arm connected to on the bumper may need cutting to
avoid the neck. On some bumpers, a small 5/10mm cut may be required along the bumper edge where the neck is
located. Offering up the bumper is advised to establish whether this is necessary or not.
8. Attach the Chosen Neck Option (ZN) and Electrical Plate (ZE) using the separate fitting instructions provided.
9. Re-fit the bumper and re-attach the LH undertray. The RH undertray is not re-fitted, return to the customer.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 - 200 Nm
Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm
