Manumed T
Intended purpose
Manumed T is a wrist brace with thumb support. The
product is exclusively to be used for the orthotic fitting of
the wrist and only on unbroken skin.
Indications
• Sprain or distortion of the wrist and/or thumb
• Postoperative fixation of the wrist and thumb
• Lesion of the ulnar collateral ligament of the basal joint of
the thumb
• Tendinitis and tendinopathy of the wrist and thumb
• Inflammatory phases of rheumatic diseases
Contraindications
• Unstable fractures in the area of the hand.
Mode of action
Fixation and stabilisation of the wrist, the thumb saddle
and the basal joint of the thumb.
Note on wear
Treatment can only be successful if the Manumed T
is worn consistently.
Instructions for putting on the brace
Instruction from trained personnel is required when
the brace is put on for the first time.
• The premoulded aluminium splints can be taken out and
easily moulded to different hand contours.
• Open all belts and slip your hand into the brace (the
aluminium splint is at the bottom - Fig. 1).
• Close the front traction belt and then the back traction
belt (Fig. 2).
