Intended use
The STS 2.0 Side ladder lift is intended
exclusively for installation on a Sortimo
TopSystem. The STS 2.0 Side ladder lift is
designed for the load securing of a ladder.
Foreseeable incorrect use
• Modifications to the product are prohibited.
• The STS 2.0 Side ladder lift may not be used
to secure other objects.
• The STS 2.0 Side ladder lift may not be used
as a working platform.
Danger from uncontrolled road handling
Severe to fatal injuries may result if the
maximum permitted load is exceeded.
▶ Observe the following details in the
handbook and in the vehicle
documentation provided by the vehicle
manufacturer:
▹ Maximum permissible total roof load,
▹ Maximum permissible axle load,
▹ Maximum permissible total weight.
Operator's obligations
▶ Check the product regularly for wear or
damage.
• Remove the product immediately if the
product is worn or damaged.
• Repairs should only be carried out by
certified contacts.
▶ Make sure that the safety equipment is
fitted.
Requirements for the user
Untrained persons can damage the product
and vehicle during installation. Please get in
touch with your contact person if any part of
the assembly is unclear.
You will need the following knowledge for safe
operation:
• General guidelines for securing loads.
• StVO (German Road Traffic Act).

Workplace
▶ Make sure that the work area is safe. Place
the vehicle on flat solid ground.
▶ Always install and remove the product with
two people and using suitable tools and
materials.
Safety equipment
Safety equipment avoids injuries. The
following represents safety equipment.

Driving and transporting
The road handling of your vehicle is affected
by the fixing and loading of the product.
▶ Check the mounting connections and
ensure that the load is secure after a short
test drive, and at regular intervals during
use.
▶ Reduce your speed in cross-winds and
when cornering.
▶ Factor in an extended braking distance.
The STS increases the height of the vehicle.
▶ Measure the overall height of your vehicle
after fixing the product and the load.
▶ Observe height restrictions.
