Replacing wear parts, fig. E/fig. F
• The torch neck can be fitted with various wear parts depending on the
welding task at hand.
NOTICE
• The order data and ID numbers for the equipment parts and wear parts can be found in the current product catalog.
Contact details for support and placing orders can be found online at www.binzel-abicor.com.
• Use only original ABICOR BINZEL wear parts.
• Use the ABICOR BINZEL wrench to assemble and disassemble and ensure that wear parts specific to the welding torch are correctly assigned.
8.2
Selecting and attaching the wire guide
1 Select the welding materials appropriate for the welding task at hand.
2 Attach the wire guide appropriate for the welding materials you are
using.
8.2.1
Shortening and mounting the spiral liner
NOTICE
• Use only end-to-end spiral liners for fixed torch necks.
• In order to install the wire guide with a little preload, excess length is required.

To use steel wires for an undivided wire guide:
®
1 Lay out the Bikox
cable/cable assembly straight.
2 At the torch neck: Remove wear parts.
3 At the central plug: Unscrew the nut.
4 At the central plug: Insert the spiral liner through the Bikox
assembly up to the retaining nipple.

To use steel wires for a divided wire guide:
®
1 Lay out the Bikox
cable/cable assembly straight.
2 Unscrew rotating or repluggable torch neck.
3 At the central plug: Unscrew the nut.
4 At the central plug: Insert the spiral liner through the Bikox
assembly up to the retaining nipple.

To use steel wires for a divided wire guide:
1 Lay out the cable assembly (10) straight.
2 Remove the torch neck.
3 Use a flathead screwdriver (width of approx. 10 mm) to unscrew the
insulating bush (17) from the torch neck seat.
4 Plug the optional torch neck with the sealing plug.
5 At the central plug (12): unscrew the nut (13).
6 At the central plug: Insert the spiral liner in the torch, starting at the central
plug and ending at the retaining nipple.
7 Manually tighten the nut (13).

Mounting and shortening the PA liner

1 Lay out the Bikox
cable/cable assembly straight.
2 Sharpen the PA liner with the ABICOR BINZEL sharpener
(angle approx. 40°).
3 Insert the sharpened spiral liner until it stops at the contact tip.
Divided wire guide:

Insert the sharpened spiral liner (15) until it stops in the torch neck liner
(torch neck mounted).

Insert the sharpened spiral liner through the wire conduit until it stops at
the torch handle insulating bush (17).
NOTICE
• For PA liners with an outer diameter of 4.0 mm, the capillary tube in the adaptor connection must be replaced by a guide tube.

5 At the central plug: Unscrew the nut and use the ABIMIG
6 At the torch neck: Use a cutter to cut off excess spiral liner so it is flush with
the tip adaptor.

7 At the torch neck: Mount the wear parts.

6 At the torch neck: Use a cutter to cut off the excess length at the threaded
handle so it protrudes by 2 mm.
7 Mount the rotating or repluggable torch neck.

8 Cut off the spiral liner (15) on the front side of the torch handle or the
sealing plug so it is flush.
9 Unscrew the nut (13) and pull out the spiral liner (15) again.
10 Cut back the spiral liner (15) 40 mm at the front (53 mm when using a
sealing plug) and grind it down at an angle of 40°. Do not remove the
spiral liner insulation any further; then deburr the edge.
11 Tighten the insulating bush (17) in the torch neck seat (forward a small
diameter) by hand.
12 Insert the spiral liner (15).
A retaining nipple protrusion (approx. 14 mm) preloads the spiral liner.
13 Tighten the nut (13).
4 At the central plug: Slide the trunnion and O-ring on the PA liner.
5 At the central plug: Manually tighten the nut.
6 The PA liner must end just before the wire feeder's conveyor rollers.
Calculate the maximum excess and mark it on the PA liner.
7 Use the ABICOR BINZEL cutter to cut off the PA liner at the marking and
deburr the edge.
