– acute feverish conditions;
– active tuberculosis;
– decompensated condition of cardiovascular, excretory, respiratory and
endocrine systems;
– deep vein thrombosis;
– malignant neoplasm;
– benign neoplasms with a tendency to grow and become malignant;
– presence of implanted pacemaker;
– all terms of pregnancy;
– period 2 days before and during menstruation;
– children under 5 years of age.
While treating the apex cardiac beat zone or other cardiac projection,
5 Hz is the only frequency permitted to be used.
MEDICAL CONTRAINDICATIONS TO TENS-THERAPY
It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to carry out TENS therapy in presence of
the following medical contraindications:
– individual intolerance of electric current and metal electrodes;
– presence of implanted pacemaker (artificial pacemaker);
– status epilepticus and convulsive disorder
– tumors of any etiology and localization;
– acute febrile condition;
– deep venous thrombosis;
– condition of acute mental, alcohol or drug abuse;
– diseases and injuries of the skin in areas of electrode application;
– children under 14 years of age.
It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to carry out TENS-therapy on any projec-

tion of the heart, as well as on throat, perineum, zones of localiza-
tion of large arteries.
To avoid burns during TENS therapy, increase the voltage on the
electrodes carefully, by briefly pressing the «TENS +» button (see
page 38)
