Assembly / Installation
The product is to be set up or installed at the inten-
ded use site under due consideration of the following
conditions:
• At the location and site all applicable provisions of
law must be clarified and compliance with them
assured.
• The ground and space relations are to be clarified
prior to set-up/installation of the product in order
to assure safe operation for the personnel and the
product long-term. The product must be set-up/
installed so that safe, permanent operation is
assured.
• The product may only be set up and commissioned
by specially trained technicians.
• The product is constructed for rooms that are
protected from the influence of the weather
(industry standard).
• The operation and storage in aggressive or humid
environments or outdoors can lead to corrosion
damages.
Commissioning
The system was fully tested prior to delivery.
Maintaining cleanliness and avoiding contamination
during use is essential.
NOTE
All pumps are tested at the factory
prior to delivery. Test medium
residue therefore remains in the
pumps.
With cover (Figure A/No. 2):
1. If installed on delivery: Position the pump (Figure
C/No. 1) on the cover (Figure C/No. 2) and secure
it with the mounting screws (Figure C/No. 11).
2. Open the original container and smooth the surfa-
ce of the grease with a spatula.
3. Set the original container into the protective ca-
sing, if any (Figure A/No. 3). Protective casings are
only included with pumping systems up to 25 kg.
4. Preparing the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12). If
the rubber ring of the supplied follower plate set
does not have the correct pre-tension on delivery,
a different rubber ring and possibly a different sup-
porting ring must be installed. The pre-tension of
the rubber ring must be approximately 5 mm per
side. Note the additional instructions if needed.
22
5. Push the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12) onto the
grease until it comes out through the guide hole.
6. Carefully slide the pumping system through the
guide hole in the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12)
and secure the cover (Figure A/No. 2) using the
three clamping screws (Figure D/No. 10) so it is
centred on the protective casing (Figure A/No. 3)
or directly on the original container.
7. Attach the compressed air connection (Figure B/
No. 4).
Caution: If no grease gun is connected to the
system and the system is started, grease cons-
tantly flows out of the medium outlet (Figure B/
No. 8).
8. Carefully open the bleed valve (Figure B/No. 5) un-
til nothing but grease comes out. Close the bleed
valve and operate the grease gun (if installed) until
no more air comes out.
9. The pump is operational and pumps grease when
the grease gun (if installed) is operated.
Recommendation: ABNOX AG recommends
working with a pressure regulator (not included in
the scope of delivery).
With clamping ring cover (Figure G/No. 16):
1. Position the pump on the clamping ring cover and
secure it with the mounting screw (Figure C/No.
11).
2. Preparing the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12).
3. Push the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12) onto the
grease until it comes out through the guide hole.
4. Open the original container and smooth the surfa-
ce of the grease with a spatula.
5. Carefully slide the pumping system through the
guide hole in the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12)
and secure the cover using the clamping ring
(Figure G/No. 15) of the original container.
CAUTION
If no grease gun is connected to the
system and the system is started,
grease constantly flows out of the
medium outlet (Figure B/No. 8).
This can cause contamination and
damage to property.
Height adjustment (Figure E/No. 13)
If installed on delivery:
1. Position the height adjustment mechanism (Figure
E/No. 13) on the pump and secure it with the
height adjustment set screw.
2. Position the pump with the installed height adjust-
ment mechanism on the cover (Figure C/No. 2).
3. Secure both with the mounting screw (Figure C/
No. 11).
4. Secure the pump at the right height using the set
screw.
Recommendation: Keep the suction pipe of
the pump 5-10 mm off the bottom of the original
container.
High-pressure hose and grease gun
(Figure E/No. 14)
The high-pressure hose and grease gun are included
in the scope of delivery of the 60:1 version only. The
high-pressure hose is connected to the medium
outlet (Figure B/No. 8). When the high-pressure hose,
grease gun and pump are connected, the system
pumps grease when the grease gun is operated.
Operation
Changing containers
Maintaining cleanliness and avoiding contamination
during use is essential.
With cover (Figure A/No. 2):
1. Disconnect the compressed air connection
(Figure B/No. 4).
2. Loosen the three clamping screws (Figure D/
No. 10) on the cover.
3. Remove the cover (Figure A/No. 2) with the pump
(Figure A/No. 1) (the pump does not have to be
separated from the cover).
4. Remove the original container from the protective
casing (Figure A/No. 3) (if any).
5. Properly dispose of the empty original container.
6. Open a new original container and smooth the
surface of the grease with a spatula.
7. Set the original container into the protective
casing, if any (Figure A/No. 3).
8. Push the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12) onto the
grease until it comes out through the guide hole.
9. Carefully slide the pumping system through
the guide hole in the follower plate (Figure D/
No.12) and secure the cover (Figure A/No. 2)
using the three clamping screws (Figure C/No. 10)
so it is centred on the protective casing (Figure A/
No. 3) or directly on the original container.
10. Attach the compressed air connection (Figure B/
No. 4).
11. Carefully open the bleed valve (Figure B/No. 5)
until nothing but grease comes out. Close the
bleed valve and run the system until no more air
comes out.
12. The pump is ready for operation.
With clamping ring cover (Figure G/No. 16):
1. Disconnect the compressed air connection (Figure
B/No. 4).
2. Loosen and remove the clamping ring (Figure G/
No. 15).
3. Remove the cover (Figure G/No. 16) with the
pump (the pump does not have to be separated
from the clamping ring cover).
4. Properly dispose of the empty original container.
5. Open a new original container and smooth the
surface of the grease with a spatula.
6. Push the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12) onto the
grease until it comes out through the guide hole.
7. Carefully slide the pumping system through the
guide hole in the follower plate (Figure D/No. 12)
and secure the cover (Figure G/No. 16) using the
clamping ring of the original container.
8. Attach the compressed air connection (Figure B/
No. 4).
9. Carefully open the bleed valve (Figure B/No. 5) un-
til nothing but grease comes out. Close the bleed
valve and run the system until no more air comes
out.
10. The pump is ready for operation.
CAUTION
If no grease gun is connected to the
system and the system is started,
grease constantly flows out of the
medium outlet (Figure B/No. 8).
This can cause contamination and
damage to property.
