Dust on outer lenses should only be removed with a soft-haired brush or a soft, clean and dry
microfiber cloth. Use a microfiber cloth with a circular motion from the center of the lens outward to
remove stains and fingerprints. The Leica Aquadura ® coating is dirt-repellent and easy to clean. Avoid
cleaning with too much force to maintain this feature as long as possible.
Cleaning cloths for spectacles are not suitable for lens cleaning, because they are doused in chemical
substances that could damage the camera lens and its coating.
Avoid excessive pressure on the lens while cleaning, even if the surface is heavily soiled. The coating
is abrasion-resistant, but is not impervious to sand particles or salt crystals. Never use any lens
cleaner containing solvents or oil.
In addition to its type designation, each lens has its individual serial number. Please note this number
in your documents as a safety measure.
