NOTE
Material damage due to improper handling!
The printhead can be damaged by improper handling.
f Do not touch the bottom of the printhead with the
fi ngers or sharp objects.
f Ensure that the materials are clean.
f Make sure that the material surfaces are smooth. Rough
materials act like emery paper and reduce the service life
of the printhead.
f Print with the lowest possible printhead temperature.
The device is ready for operation when all connections
have been made, and the materials and, if applicable,
the colour ribbon have been loaded.
7 .1 Synchronising the paper feed
After inserting the material, a synchronization of the
paper feed is necessary in dispensing or cutting mode. In
the process, the fi rst material detected by the sensor is
moved into print position and all of the materials ahead
of it are transported out of the device. In dispensing
mode, this prevents empty material from being
dispensed together with the fi rst printed material, and in
cut mode, it prevents errors in the cut length of the fi rst
section. Both effects could make the fi rst material
unusable.
1 Press
to start the synchronization.
2 Remove the empty materials that were dispensed or cut
off by the feed mechanism.
; The paper feed is synchronised.
A synchronisation run is not necessary if the printhead was
not opened between the different print jobs, even if the
device was switched off.
7 .2 Tear-off mode
In tear-off mode, materials or continuous material is
printed. The print job will be processed without
interruption. After printing, the consumable material
strips are torn off by hand. For this operating mode, the
tear-off plate must be installed.

7 .3 Dispensing mode (only available with dispensing
version)
In dispensing mode, the materials are automatically
removed from the carrier material after being printed
and dispensed for removal. The carrier material is wound
up inside the device.
The operating mode is only possible with the dispensing
versions of the device.
Dispensing mode must be activated in the software.
In the direct programming, this is achieved with the P
command.
Æ Programming instructions
In the most simple case, the dispensing mode can be
controlled with the touchscreen display without using an
optional component:
• Starting the print job with activated dispensing mode
• Starting each individual dispensing procedure by pressing
on the touchscreen display
7 .4 Internal winding (only available for dispensing
version)
After printing, the materials are wound up internally
with the carrier material for later use.
The operating mode is only possible with the dispensing
versions of the device. Instead of the dispensing plate,
an optional guide plate must be installed
