For mounting position of M304 when used together with M303, see Fig. 10.
• Connect the tool to the M322 - M325.
• If the M304 is connected to an M322 - M325, set the switch of the M304 to the double acting.
• Start the pump, refer to the manual of the pump.
• Set the lever of the industrial control valve in its "operational" position or depress the lower/lift
button.
Pressure adjustable valve M303 (Refer to Fig. 1):
WARNING
Always use a pressure gauge with the M303 valve to check the pressure setting.
• Turn the pressure regulator counter clockwise fully. (This is the lowest pressure setting)
• Connect the tool to the pump using the appropriate hydraulic hoses. Refer to the manual of the
equipment being used.
• Start the pump, refer to the manual of the pump.
• Set the lever of the industrial control valve in its "operational" position or depress the lower/lift
button.
• Select the required pressure setting. Turn the pressure regulator clockwise.
• Lock the pressure setting with the lock plate.
The tool is now ready for use, refer to the manual of the tool being used.
4.3.2 De-pressurizing the tool
WARNING
Always make sure that the relief valve is in the "neutral" position and that the pump is
switched off, before you disconnect hydraulic hose(s) from the pump.
Single-acting valve M311 (Fig. 3):
• Set the lever of the industrial control valve in its "neutral/0" position or depress the lower/lift button.
• Stop the pump, refer to the manual of the pump.
• Disconnect the tool from the pump and eventually the hydraulic hoses. Refer to the manual of the
equipment being used.
Double-acting valve M321 - M325 and VM43L (Fig. 4 - Fig. 8, Fig. 9):
• Fully retract the tool (pressurize the "B"-port), before disconnecting the couplers.
• Put the control handle for 1 second in the operation position, see that the plunger of the tool comes
out again, 1 mm is enough (pressurize the "A"-port).
The check valve of the "B"-port will release its pressure.
• Disconnect the couplers.
A valve M322 - M325 with the single and double-acting valve M304 (Fig. 2):
• Set the M304 to single action.
• Fully retract the tool.
• Put the control handle for 1 second in the operation position on the "B"-port.
• Stop the pump, refer to the manual of the pump.
• Disconnect the couplers.
You can use the M304 valve to remove rest pressure from the system, so that couplers can be
disconnected easily:
