You will need a flathead screwdriver.
A) Your Weber ® gas barbecue must be OFF and cool.
B) Turn gas OFF at source.
C) Open lid and remove the cooking grates.
burner tube Removal
A) Remove the ¼-20 screw that holds the burner tube to the cookbox (1).
B) Rotate the outside burner 90°. Slide and lift burner away from burner orifice and
remove from cookbox.
C) Repeat this procedure for the inside burner (2).
m CAution: Care must be taken when removing or
reinstalling burner tubes. do not force or bend the gas lines
that connect the burner tubes to the control valves (3).
burner tube Cleaning
A) Look inside each burner with a flashlight (4).
B) Clean the inside of the burners with a wire (a straightened-out coat hanger will
work) (5).
C) Check and clean the air shutter openings at the ends of the burners (6). Check and
clean the valve orifices at the base of the burner valves (7). Use a steel bristle brush
to clean outside of burners. These actions are to make sure all the burner ports are
fully open.
m CAution: do not enlarge the burner ports when cleaning.
D) Lightly tap each burner to get debris and dirt out of the burner tube. Once the
spider/insect screens and burners are clean, reinstall the burners.
burner tube Reinstallation
A) To reinstall the burner tubes, reverse steps for "Burner Tube Removal" as previously
described. Check for proper assembly before fastening burner tubes in place.
m CAution: the burner openings (8) must be positioned
properly over the valve orifices (9).
m wARninG: After reinstalling the burners, the gas
connections should be leak checked with a soap and water
solution before using the barbecue. Refer to "CheCK foR
GAs leAKs."
