MEASURING MOISTURE IN MATERIALS
- Turn the device ON (ON / set switch), re-
move the protective cap and press the
prongs into or against the material. Cau-
tion Do not force the prongs into the ma-
terial.
- The measured value appears on the rele-
vant scale. Left scale for wood and right
scale for building materials. Moisture in
building materials equals the values in
table below.
- On the left scale each unit equals a 1%
step. On the right scale each unit equals a
0.05% step.
- Moisture levels outside the device's range
will cause the display to blink.
- After use refit the protective cap onto the
device.
The calorific value of wood varies from type to type. To achieve the ideal calorific value of
each type of wood it has to be sufficiently stored / dried before burning.
VALUE TABLE FOR WOOD:
6 – 15% well dried wood, ideal for burning
16 – 20% limited suitability for burning
21 – 44% not suitable for burning. Additional storage / drying required.
