14. Maintenance

Periodically verify the technical safety of the device, e.g. check for damage to the power cable or the housing.
If you have reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and
make sure it is not unintentionally operated. Pull the power plug out of the power socket!
It must be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
there is visible damage to the device or to the power line
the device no longer works
the device has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions or
after the device has been exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport
Before cleaning the CD player or performing maintenance, the following safety instruction must be observed:
The device is maintenance-free and you should therefore never open it. Live components may
be exposed if covers are opened or components are removed. If you open the device, the gua-
rantee will be rendered void.
All connected devices must be disconnected from the mains before servicing or repairs.
Repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the hazards invol-
ved and the relevant regulations.
The device's outside should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or a brush. Never use any aggressive cleaning
agents or chemical solutions that may damage the surface of the housing.

15. Disposal

For the sake of our environment and for the best possible recycling of the raw materials used, the con-
sumer should bring any used or defective devices to the public recycling sites for electric scrap. The
symbol showing a crossed-out dust bin on wheels means that this product must be taken to a collec-
tion site for electronic scrap to ensure the best possible recycling of the raw materials.
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
You, as the end user, are legally obliged (Ordinance on the Return and Disposal of Used Batteries)
to return all used batteries. Disposal in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries and rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with symbols indica-
ting that disposal in the household waste is prohibited. The descriptions for the respective heavy metal
are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. (The terms are inscribed on the batteries e.g. under the
left-hand side waste symbols).
You can hand in your used batteries at no cost at official collection points in your community, at our sto-
res or anywhere batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
