Loudspeaker service

If damaged, an 18" loudspeaker should be removed and replaced as described below. Alternatively, recone kits are
available and reconing can be performed by L-ACOUSTICS
18" loudspeaker removing procedure
1. Install the SB118 enclosure in the vertical position, grill on the top and pole mount towards the user.
2. Remove the grill by removing the 10 Torx
3. Remove the front bass-reflex panel by removing the 16 Torx
4. Remove the pole mount socket by removing the 10 Torx
5. Remove the 8 hex screws and 16 washers from the loudspeaker.
6. Lift up the top part of the loudspeaker, disconnect both red and black cables from the loudspeaker electrical
socket, and remove the loudspeaker.
18" loudspeaker replacing procedure
1. Install the loudspeaker and lift up the top part of it.
2. Connect both cables to the loudspeaker electrical socket: connect the red cable to the red-labeled pin and the
black cable to the unlabeled pin.
3. Install the loudspeaker and screw in the 8 hex screws: into each hex screw, insert a split lockwasher and then a
flat washer (follow this sequence) and screw in the assembly to the loudspeaker (5 N.m/45 in.lb
4. Install the pole mount socket (socket oriented upwards) and screw in the 10 Torx
5. Install the front bass-reflex panel and screw in the 16 Torx
with positioning studs (7 N.m/63 in.lb
6. Install the grill (logo oriented downwards) and screw in the 10 Torx
