9. Trimming grass and weeds
• Sweep trimmer back and forth uniformly to cut small
patches of grass or weeds. The trimmer is not con-
structed and suitable for cutting large areas.
• Wherever possible, cut with left-hand side so that cut-
tings, dust and stones are thrown forwards, away from
the user.
• Ideal working conditions are achieved if the trimmer is
tilted to the left at an angle approx. of 30°.

10. Adjusting nylon line

Check the nylon line regularly if it is damaged or if it still
has the correct length.
Your lawn trimmer is equipped with a fully automatic
thread adjustment function. This means, that, in case of
normal use, the worn thread will be automatically pro-
longed through a mechanism based on the centrifugal
force. Thus, the user does not have to adjust the thread
length by hand any longer. Nevertheless, it is recom-
mended that you regularly check the nylon thread for
damages before you use the trimmer.
The thread is fully used up, if you realise a material
decrease of the cutting performance and a significant
higher speed. In this case, you will have to proceed as
described under point 11 (Replacing the thread coil).
Your trimmer has a thread cutting blade that continuously
cuts the thread down to the appropriate length (fig. 11).
Note: Clean the thread cutting blade from grass re-
mainders in order to guarantee an unaffected cutting
performance.
Attention: Danger of injury through the cutting blade !
11. Replacement of Spool
First, switch off and unplug the device. Wait until the ny-
lon thread has come to a halt. Then push the two locking
devices 1 at the sides of the cutting head, and remove
the cutting head cover 2. Remove the used thread coil
and put in the new coil 3 such, that one end of the thread
comes out of each outlet at the sides of the cutting head.
Finally, close the cover by pushing it in its seat. Both
locks must properly engage.

12. Mounting the Twincut system
To use the device as an electric scythe the provided
Twincut cutting system can be mounted. This system has
been designed to cut stronger vegetation as nettles, this-
tles and the like. But please bear in mind that the TwinCut
cutting system must never be used to cut off brushwood,
hedges, branches or similar.
For assembly, push both lock buttons 1 at the side of the
cutting head and remove the cover 2. Remove the coil 3
from the cutting head housing. Store the cover and coil
for future use.
The Twincut system is then put on the cutting head hous-
ing in the same manner as the coil cover. The two locks
of the Twincut system must be inserted exactly into the
corresponding reliefs in the housing. Please make sure
that both locks engage properly (Fig. 14).
(fig. 10)
(fig. 12 + 13)
(fig. 14 - 16)
Dismounting the TwinCut system (Fig. 15): Push both
lateral locking buttons (1) and pull the TwinCut system off
in upward direction.
Mounting the cutters (Fig. 16): Put on cutters (1) and
push into final location until they lock into place (2).
Please take care that the cutters lock into place correctly.
Only in their correct position, the cutters can swing freely
(3). This is essential for safe operation. The device may
only be operated with two cutters mounted.
To replace the plastic cutters please proceed as follows
(Fig. 17):
Dismounting the cutters: Turn the cutters anticlockwise
as far as they will go (1). Then push in direction of arrow
pressing them down powerfully until they unlock (2);
remove cutters (3).
To insert the new cutters please proceed as described in
the paragraph 'Mounting the cutters'.
Attention: If one or both plastic cutters are damaged or
worn out always replace them in pairs; otherwise, dan-
gerous balance errors may occur.
Switch the device off immediately if you detect unusual
vibrations or balance errors and check the condition of
both plastic cutters and the Twincut system. In case of
defects, defective parts must be replaced first.
13. Trouble shooting
• Trimmer does not work: Check power supply (e.g.
by testing on another socket or by means of a voltage
tester). Should it still not work, although the socket is
o.k., send it undismantled to an authorised service sta-
tion for repair.
• Cutting line disappears into spool: Remove spool
(acc. to point 11), pull end of line through the metal
outlet and reinsert spool. In case nylon line is used up
insert a new spool with line.
Do not make any other repairs on your own; have your
trimmer checked and repaired by an authorised dealer.
14. Storing
• Clean the unit thoroughly, especially the cooling air
slots on the motor housing.
• Do not use water to clean the device.
• Store trimmer indoors in a dry, high or locked place and
keep out of reach of children.
15. Repair saervice
Repairs to electric power tools should only be carried out
by a specialised electrician.
16. Waste disposal and environmental protection
If your device should become useless somewhere in the
future or you do not need it any longer, do not dispose
of the device together with your domestic refuse, but dis-
pose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
Please dispose of the device itself at an according col-
lecting/recycling point. By doing so, plastic and metal
parts can be separated and recycled. Information con-
cerning the disposal of materials and devices are avail-
able from your local administration.
