Focolare 80 Idro Crystal - DSA
Too much fuel and air for the combustion can cause overheating and therefore damage ther thermo-fireplace.
The damages caused by overheating are not covered by guarantee.
The thermo-fireplace must always be used with closed door to avoid the forge effect.
11. OPERATION IN THE TRANSITION PERIODS
ATTENTION: never light for any reason if the installation is not completely full of water in order to avoid a
serious damage of the whole structure.
The installation must always be full of water even when the thermo-fireplace is not used. A possible no use during
winter season must be faced by adding antifreeze substances.
During transition period when the external temperatures are higher, if there is a sudden increase of temperature it can
happen that the combustion gas inside the flue are not completely sucked up. The exhaust gases do not come out
completely (intense smell of gas).
In such case, shake the grille frequently and increase the combustion air. Subsequently load a reduced quantity of
fuel in order that it burns very fast (with expansion of flames) so that the flue becomes regular.
Then check that all the openings for cleaning and the chimney connections are hermetically sealed.
12. ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY FAILURE
In the event of an unexpected electrical power supply failure during normal system operation, it will be necessary to
carry out these simple manoeuvres to prevent the water in the boiler starting to boil as a consequence of the lack of
pump operation.
1. Close completely the primary and secondary air registers in
order to smother the flame as much as possible.
2. Close the smokes register, if existing, to limit further coming
of combustive air through possible cracks.
13. MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Have a chimneysweep check the correct installation, connection to the
chimney and aeration.
IMPORTANT: only spare parts which have expressly authorised and
offered by La Nordica can be used. In case of need, please contact
your specialised dealer.
THE APPLIANCE CANNOT BE MODIFIED!
13.1.
FLUE CLEANING
The correct ignition procedure, the use of suitable quantities and types of
fuel, the correct positioning of air register, sufficient chimney draught and
the presence of combustive air are essential for optimum appliance
operation.
During normal use, the chimney is not subject to being damaged in any
way.
The appliance should be thoroughly cleaned at least once a year or
whenever necessary. An excessive deposit of soot (creosote) can cause
problems in fume exhaust and fire in the flue itself. Cleaning must only be
carried out when the appliance is cold.
This operation must be performed by a chimney sweep, who can make an
inspection at the same time. Excessive incrustation deposits on the inner
walls of the hearth considerably reduce the efficiency of heat exchange;
therefore, remove these deposits using a steel brush whenever necessary.
Never use corrosive substances that can damage the thermo-fireplace
and the boiler.
During cleaning remove, with the help of a hammer, the top cap of the
fireplace, which is located on the exhaust fumes (pos. B).
ATTENTION: when you remove the cap, the dirtiness that is inside the
chamber of exhaust fumes falls down, therefore avoid to dirty the
inside of the fireplace.
When the cleaning is completed, put the top cap of the fireplace into its place (B). You have to support the cap to the
wall above the fireplace by passing it through the corresponding slots (C) and then, with a rotary movement of the
hand, send the screws at the machined seats into the wall (D) and leave the cap as support on the upper wall.
