The ideal wind speed for flying is 0-2 m/s. The band on your antenna will rise to 45°.
Aviator Basics
If you want to start your model for the first time, you definitely should be a billet-proof aviator - that means you
should have trained a lot with flight simulators in order to bring a model back to the ground undamaged in case
of emergency. Choose calm weather with not too much wind und let other aviators in your area know - if neces-
sary - that you want to penetrate so that nobody else is in the air that you might endanger.
Previously there are some inspections necessary:
Oar strokes - do not choose to big - better start smaller or else you will not be able to navigate nuanced enough.
Also choose the exponential smaller than usual.
Are the amplitudes correct? Is the transmitter programmed correctly?
The flight time depends on the power of you battery that you should have sense about - maybe set a transmitter
alarm (if available) so that the battery will not be totally discharged during the flight.
Completely charge the traction battery!
Completely charge the transmitter battery!
A helper/pilot that supports you during the first flight is invaluable. He may give you advices and in case of
doubt he may intervene and provide support.
Start against the wind and do not pull too much at your first take-off.
Keep the model straight and trim it in case it wants to go into a curve, thereafter conduct height-trim.
In case the model reacts heavily to the pitch elevator, then the model is too tail-heavy. More weight should be
mounted to the front. Maybe move the traction battery to the front. Rather penetrate a bit too top-heavy in the
beginning and then move the balance point slightly to the back. To penetrate an extremely tail-heavy model is
no fun, not even for a trained aviator.
