containing fat or moisture, use the
baking tray to stop any dripping into the
interior of the appliance.
∙ Close the door.
∙ Always use the door handle to open the
hot door after use.
∙ When removing the baking tray or rack,
use the handle provided. Always place
the tray and rack down on a heat-
resistant surface.
∙ After use, set the 7-position switch to its
OFF position and remove the plug from
the wall socket.
Rotating spit
∙ When the food to be cooked is put onto
the spit, make sure that it does not come
into contact with the upper or lower
heating elements; ensure sufficient
distance.
∙ Pierce the food to be cooked on the spit,
making sure that the spit goes through
the middle. This is to ensure that the
food does not go to near the interior
walls or the heating elements. Use the
holding clamps to secure the food in the
centre of the spit.
∙ Any parts sticking out (e.g. wings of a
chicken) should be held in with a tooth-
pick, a piece of string or other suitable
means. This ensures that no part of the
food can protrude or come off during the
cooking process.
∙ Inserting and removing the rotating spit:
∙ Place the loaded spit onto the handle
assembly. Ensure that the spit is
safely supported in the recesses in
the handle.
∙ Slide the spit end-piece with the drive
unit connection into the drive unit (see
picture II).
∙ Place the idle end of the spit into its
holding bracket on the opposite side
(see picture I).
∙ To remove the rotating spit, follow
these steps in reverse order.
Using the hot-plates
∙ Always place a pot / saucepan on the
hot-plate first.
∙ Large hot-plate:
Set the 7-position switch to the required
temperature.
∙ Small hot-plate:
Set the temperature control to the
required temperature.
∙ Use the timer to select the desired
cooking time.
∙ With one or both hot-plates switched on,
the indicator lamp is lit.
∙ To ensure optimal heat distribution, only
use pots / saucepans with flat bottoms. .
∙ Always make sure that the pot /
saucepan used is of at least the same
diameter as the plate; this minimises the
loss of heat.
∙ After use, set the controls back to OFF
or to 0, and remove the plug from the
wall socket.
