9.4 The Measuring Pro station

A tactile measurement can be used to determine the filling level or height for MPS workpieces. A scales
present on the station (implemented with load cell) can measure the exact weight of the workpieces.
Following evaluation, the workpiece is transported back to the belt by the rotary lifting cylinder.
Depending on the result the workpieces are either transported to the end of the belt or ejected onto a slide
with filling level monitoring.

The Measuring Pro station is a checking and
measuring device.
The major tasks associated with checking are
gathering data (actual values) and comparing
these with pre-specified values (set points). These
then result in decisions such as "workpiece
good/bad" or "yes/no".
Two fork light barriers are attached to the
conveyor for positioning and for detection of
workpieces. With the help of the time sequence of
the signal states of the fork light barriers, it is
possible to distinguish between MPS cartons and
MPS workpieces. After being positioned on the
belt the workpieces are supplied to the
appropriate module by a rotary lifting cylinder with
a gripper.
A weighing module is installed on the station. This
is loaded with workpieces via the rotary lifting
cylinder.
