11.6.1.2. Specific hazards
The device conforms to 2014/34/EU (ATEX) (equipment group II, category 3 and
temperature classification T4); it is exclusively intended for extracting air from
Zone 2 or non-Ex zones and must be installed in a safe area.
Marking: CE
All forms of use which deviate from or exceed the limits of use described above
are considered to be contrary to the intended purpose. The manufacturer /
supplier is not liable for any damages resulting from such use; the sole
responsibility lies with the user.
No specific hazards for people or the environment arise provided this equipment
is used as intended and only with original accessories, and provided this
Installation and Operating Manual as well as the information on safe
commissioning are observed.
11.6.1.3.
installation / removal, maintenance
The device is shipped ready to use and install with the exception of the control
cables, which are not included in the scope of supply because they must be
adapted to the specific conditions on site. You must check the electrical
specifications (voltage, frequency) and compare them with the information on
the rating plate prior to connecting the device to the mains.
The device may only be installed, operated and maintained by appropriately
trained, instructed and authorised persons.
Operating principle: The air containing hazardous substances is discharged
from the hazardous material cabinet via a filter system comprised of a
coarse filter, a fine filter and an activated carbon filter. 99.9% of all
hydrocarbons are retained in this way by adsorption. This micro-controlled
device monitors the volume flow and saturation of the activated carbon filter.
The operational status is indicated by three LEDs (GREEN, YELLOW and
RED) as well as by an audible signal. To meet the requirements of TRbF 20
Annex L, the exhaust function is interrupted as soon as the saturation LED
shows "Error". This ensures that no hazardous substances are discharged
from the cabinet into the workroom. The interior of the device is
automatically flushed in the event of an error in order to reduce the
concentration. If flushing does not cause the concentration to fall below the
setpoint, the device goes into "alarm". Alarms can only be cancelled by
authorised persons. Short concentration peaks (less than 9 seconds) are
simply indicated (all saturation lamps on) without the device going into
"error". The coarse and fine filters significantly extend the life of the activated
carbon filter by retaining dust particles. The actual saturation up to the limit
value is indicated by the three yellow LEDs in 25% steps. The quality of the
ambient air is shown by another yellow LED. The brightness of this LED
varies according to the amount of the hazardous substances.
