•
Never transport the cylinder carrying it by the valve or by the pressure regulator assembly.
•
Always remove the pressure regulator from the cylinder for transport, when not in use.
•
Keep out of the reach of children.
4.2 Routine checks
•
The pressure regulators are supplied bare, without their inlet and outlet adapters installed.
•
When unpacking or installing the pressure regulator, make sure that there are no anomalies (all items
present, correct condition of the indicators, appropriate connectors, etc.).
•
The pressure regulators must not be subjected to any violent shocks: a damaged pressure regulator
must not be used. In such cases, have the unit overhauled.
•
Only use equipment which is in perfect condition, and ensure that it is compatible with the type of gas
used, and with the required pressures and flow-rates.
•
Observe the cleanness of the unit during handling (no dust, water or grease, etc.), and of the
accessories to which it is connected.
•
The pressure regulator is designed to be associated with other accessories. The assembly of such
accessories onto the pressure regulator shall be carried out by qualified personnel.
4.3 Installation of the pressure regulator
•
Ensure your hands are clean before installing or handling the pressure regulator.
•
Blank the unused inlet and outlet with a blind plug.
•
Secure the pressure regulator onto the panel using the two Dia. M5 x 7 tapped holes, or by means of
the anchoring ring (Drilling Dia. = 37 mm; thickness = 3 mm).
•
Install the inlet adapter corresponding to the gas to be used, on the pressure regulator.
•
Install the outlet union.
•
Connect the inlet and outlet to the pipework.
NOTE : it is mandatory to install a filter upstream of the pressure regulator
•
Unscrew the hand wheel of the pressure regulator and check that the downstream system is closed.
•
Slowly open the shut-off valve.
•
Slowly screw in the hand wheel of the pressure regulator until a flow is obtained.
•
Check the sealing of the complete assembly, particularly the adapters.
CAUTION : Never attempt to tighten a union which is under gas pressure.
•
Close the supply valve. Bleed the unit. Unscrew the hand wheel of the pressure regulator.
4.4 Utilisation of the pressure regulator
•
Check that the hand wheel of the pressure regulator is unscrewed.
•
Slowly open the shut-off valve.
•
Screw in the hand wheel of the pressure regulator until the required pressure is obtained - check that
gas issues from the unit.
•
After use, close the supply valve, wait until gas no longer issues from the unit and then unscrew the
hand wheel of the pressure regulator.
