Installation instructions

67. Remove the old tow-hook (left vehicle longitudinal beam); the tow-hook and the fastening screws are not
needed anymore.
68. Remove any underfloor protection, wax, anti-noise compound, and the such from the attachment area of
the towing hitch and on the longitudinal beam at point (A). Touch up any damages to the corrosion
protection according to the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines.
69. Mount the right/left side brackets (3/4) loosely to the longitudinal beams (see figure 1):
Point (A) : Hexagon screw, M12x45 (6); split ring, B12 (8); washer, 13 (Æ35; 5 mm thick)(9); side
brackets right/left (3/4); vehicle longitudinal beam with weld nuts M12
70. Hold towing hitch (2) between the side brackets (3/4) and screw on as follows (see figure 1):
Point (B) : Hexagon screw, M12x45 (6); split ring, B12 (8); washer, 13 (Æ35; 5 mm thick)(9); side
brackets right/left (3/4); towing hitch (2) with weld nuts M12
Point (C) : Hexagon screw, M12x45 (6); washer, 13 (Æ35; 5 mm thick)(9); side bracket right/left (3/4);
towing hitch (2); washer 13 (Æ35; 5 mm thick)(9); hexagon nut, M12 (11)
Hand-tighten the screw connections !
71. Align the towing hitch (2) centrally to the vehicle and tighten the side brackets left/right (3/4) at point (A) as
follows (see figure 1):
72. Align the towing hitch (2) vertically and make sure the side brackets are in stress-free contact with the
towing hitch.
73. Tighten the screw connections (B) and (C).
74. Reapply the corrosion protection in the attachment area and contact surfaces of the towing hitch.
