Troubleshooting
If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable
to remedy the problem by yourself, please contact Hilti Service.
9.1 Troubleshooting
Trouble or fault
No hammering ac-
tion.
The battery runs
down more quickly
than usual.
The battery does
not engage with
an audible "double
click".
Product switches off
automatically.
The power tool or
battery gets very
hot.
No response from
the LEDs on the bat-
tery.

Possible cause
The product is too cold.
Battery condition is not
optimal.
The retaining lugs on the
battery are dirty.
The overload protection
system is active.
Electrical fault.
The product is over-
loaded (application limit
exceeded).
The battery is not fully
inserted.
Action to be taken
▶ Bring the product
into contact with
the working surface,
switch it on and allow
it to idle. If necessary,
repeat the procedure
until the hammering
mechanism begins to
operate.
▶ Replace the battery.
▶ Clean the retaining
lugs and refit the
battery.
The ON/OFF indicator
flashes.
▶ Release the control
switch. Allow the
product to cool down.
Press the control
switch again. Reduce
the load on the tool.
▶ Immediately switch off
the product. Remove
the battery and keep
it under observation.
Allow it to cool down.
Contact Hilti service.
▶ Select a product that
is suitable for the
intended purpose.
▶ Push the battery in
until it engages with a
double click.
