15. Wireless range

The wireless range is dependent on many factors. In an ideal location and by
free line of sight between both antennas) a range of up to 150 m is possible,
within buildings this is reduced to maybe 20 m.
The range cannot be guaranteed as it is dependent on the local conditions.
A reduction of the range will be caused by:
#
Walls and Floors, in particular those of metal or with metal
reinforcement
#
Coated windows (eg. those with Insulating glass), radiators, mirrors and
other metal surfaces
#
Electrical cables and electrical products (eg. those containing electrical
motors, microwave ovens)
#
Devices using the same or similar frequency (eg. WLAN-systems)
How can this be improved?
#
Use the antenna cable [72]and install the antenna [35] on the inside of
the wall (see Fig. D).
#
Locate the antenna in a better position by using an antenna extension
cable (extends the supplied antenna cable) – see chapter 19 optional
accessories.
16. Changing the batteries in the outdoor
station
If the indoor sation does not react to pressing the door bell button [47] or if
there is only one bar in the battery status indicator [13], then the batteries must
be changed.
In this case:
!
If necessary loosen the bracket [80] of the antenna cable [72], so that
there is some slack in the cable.
!
Unscrew the two security screws [71]in the holes [67] with the supplied
screwdriver [36] and remove them.
!
Carefully lever the outdoor station [41] out of the mounting bracket [63]
and if necessary unscrew the antenna cable from the anntena connection
[48].

!
Refit the outdoor station into the mounting bracket as follows:
!
If fixed, push the antenna through the underside of the antenna hole.

the top side.
!
Now pull the top end of the outdoor station outwards until the lower
end can be pushed into the mounting bracket.
!
Press the lower end of the outdoor station into the mounting bracket
and insert the two security screws as far as possible into the two holes,
then tighten these using the screwdriver.
!
If necessary rescure the antenna bracket such that the antenna points
upwards (see Fig. D) .
17. Reset
In case of a software crash, when there is no reaction to the pressing of any
button, reset the system as follows:
!
Hold the reset button [29] pressed, using for example the end of a paper
clip, until the picture on the screen disappears.
!
Hold the on/off button [24] on the indoor station pressed until the power
LED lights red.
Note:
The settings will remain saved.
