The sauté function requires close supervision and needs to be controlled manually. Don't leave your Rice Cooker
unattended when in Sauté mode. When you have finished sautéing, press the power button to turn off the unit. The
button's light will go out.
IMPORTANT: Before cooking rice, you must manually turn off the Sauté function.
NOTE: Do not use a metal spoon to stir the food in the inner bowl as this may damage the non-stick coating.
STEAMING FUNCTION
Steam cooking vegetables retains more nutrients than boiling or baking, while preserving the bright, natural color.
1.
Prepare vegetables by washing, peeling and then cutting into even sized pieces.

Make sure the unit is unplugged.

Fill the Pot Liner

Set the Pot Liner into the Cooker Body

Place vegetables in the Steam Tray
NOT OPERATE THIS UNIT UNCOVERED. STEAM IS GENERATED DURING USE. LID IS HOT.

Plug the Power Cord into a wall outlet. Activate the Rice Cooker by pressing the Steam Button
power button
. The buttons will illuminate.

Time the cooking manually according to the chart below. Turn off the unit by pressing the Power button when ready
NOTE: The unit will automatically switch to the keep warm cycle should all the water evaporate. If all the water
evaporates and you wish to extend the cooking cycle, add more water.

Once the vegetables have been steamed according to your personal preference, remove the Steam Tray from the
Crock-Pot® Rice Cooker.
9.
Disconnect from the wall outlet and allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning.

NOTE: These times are approximate. It is recommended that you monitor the steaming process and adjust the cooking time
according to your preference.
COOKING PASTA
Your Rice Cooker can also be used like a standard saucepan to cook other foods using the sauté function. Note: the
automatic cooking features of your Rice Cooker will not work in this type of cooking due to the large quantities of water
used.
To cook pasta (4 servings) measure out the dry pasta using the measuring cup provided. 1 cup of dried pasta = 1 serving
of cooked pasta. Add the dried pasta to the inner bowl along with 1.5L of boiling water. Don't use the glass lid when
cooking in this way.
Drain and serve immediately. Alternatively you can place the cooked pasta back into the inner bowl along with any extra
ingredients and cook until heated through. Serve immediately.
