INDICATIONS
We would like to thank you for purchasing an Eclipse
optic otoscope. This medical device has been manufactured
in accordance with the provisions of Directive 93/42 EEC
applying to medical devices and is subject to frequent quality
controls.
This medical device is exclusively reserved for medical diagnos-
tic purposes: examination of the auditory meatus and eardrum,

or surface illumination during non-invasive examinations.
This device must be used as indicated.
The Eclipse
examinations possible thanks to the quality of its illumination
system and of its handling.
WARNING
The optical fibres optimally focus and transmit the light beam,
providing direct, homogeneous and reflection-free illumination
of the auditory meatus and eardrum, even in difficult to access
zones.
The outer part of the screw-on otoscope head is made from
polypropylene, while the inside is made from ABS. It is fitted
with a wear-resistant chromium-plated brass mount onto

which the ear speculum can be easily and quickly fitted and
removed.
The acrylic observation magnifier, with a magnification factor of
2.5, can swivel to the side to allow the insertion of instruments.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
To perform pneumatic otoscopy, connect the blower to the air
inlet port on the side of the otoscope's head.
The battery-containing handle, equipped with a metal clip, is
made from high-quality, tough and impact-resistant aluminium.
Precautions for use
The otoscope head must be fitted with a speculum before
insertion into the auditory meatus.
Fitting batteries
Unscrew the bottom of the otoscope handle and insert two LR6
AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment, matching
the (+) and (-) polarity markings.
