10. Troubleshooting

Fault
Strap tension insufficient
Tension and feed wheel slides
and damaging on the strap.
Seizing signs on the strap.
During tensioning strap is
braking.
During the tensioning operation
the tool rolls backwards and strap
is loose.
The plastic strap is not aligning
correctly the welding point is not
in the centre.
TP 500 II
Cause
Air pressure too low.
Tension motor (504) is set
incorrectly.
Pneumatic fittings and/or hoses
(88) weren‟t set correctly or dirty.
Tension motor and/or
maintenance unit is dirty or
defective.
Compressed air valve (505) is
dirty or defective.
Tension and feed wheel (38)
and/or gripper plates were dirty or
defective.
Distance between tension/feed
wheel and gripper plate (0.2 mm)
isn‟t correct.
Tension force is too high.
Use of inappropriate plastic strap.
Distance between tension/feed
wheel and gripper plate (0.2 mm)
isn‟t correct.
Use of inappropriate plastic strap.
Tension force is too high.
Sharp packing edges.
Use of inappropriate plastic strap.
Plastic strap holding unit is
defective.
Wrong strap dimension setting or
strap guides defective.
Tension force is too high.
Use of inappropriate plastic strap.

Remedy
Check air pressure value (min.
4.5 bar) and increase it if
necessary, and/or check the air
pressure system on leakage and
seal potential leakages.
Set tension motor (504) correctly,
see 8.2.
Set pneumatic fittings and/or
hoses (88) correctly and/or clean
them.
Check if tension motor and/or
maintenance unit is dirty or
defective, if it is so contact
TITAN – Service.
If compressed air valve (505) is
dirty or defective contact
TITAN – Service.
Clean tension and feed wheel
(38) and/or gripper plates and
replace them when it‟s necessary,
see 9.2 – 9.4.
Set the correct distance between
tension/feed wheel and gripper
plate, see 8.3.
Set the correct tension force, see
8.2.
Use appropriate plastic strap, ask
your TITAN – Adviser for advice.
Increase the distance between
tension/feed wheel and gripper
plate, see 8.3.
Use appropriate plastic strap, ask
your TITAN – Adviser for advice.
Set the correct tension force, see
8.2.
Use edge protectors.
Use appropriate plastic strap, ask
your TITAN – Adviser for advice.
Contact TITAN – Service.
Check strap dimension and adjust
strap guides correctly, if
necessary replace strap guides,
