Make sure that dies are exactly positioned on desired crimp point; otherwise, re-open dies
following instructions as per § 2.4 and position the connector again.
2.3) Compression
Operate the moveable handle (20) to advance the ram until the die faces touch.
It is recommended to continue pumping until the maximum pressure valve is activated and a
"click" is heard.
When more compression is required, proceed according to the sequence and direction indicated
in figure 5, uniformly spacing the compressions.
2.4) Dies re-opening
Press the pressure release lever (50) for the rapid retraction of the ram and subsequent dies re-
opening of the dies to release the crimped connector.
To take the dies off their guide, slide them by pushing the release pins (12).
2.5) Rest setting
After completion of the work, press the release lever to release the oil pressure.
Fit the handle holder (40).
The tool is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points, should help to maintain the optimum performance of the tool.
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Every day, after use, the tool must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residual,
especially close to pivots and moveable parts.
3.2) Storage
When not in use, the tool should be stored and trans-
ported in the canvas bag, to prevent damage.
Canvas bag: ref. CVB-010; size 545x160 mm (21.4x6.3 in.);
weight 0,15 kg (0.33 lbs).
On request is available the case type VAL-75 with
dimensions 270x80x30 mm (10.6x3.1x1.2 in.), weight
0.15 kg (0.33 lbs), suitable for storage 5 sets of semi-
circular slotted dies.
3.3) Head rotation
For ease of operation, the tool head can rotate through 180°.
Do not attempt to turn the head if the hydraulic circuit is pressurised
