Trouble shooting
Problem
Functions cannot be
activated.
The appliance switches off
before brewing is complete;
residual water remains
inside the container.
No coffee comes out of the
swing-out filter.
Water overflow in swing-out
filter.
The coffee is too thin.

Cause
Appliance is not plugged
in.
Socket is defective.
Descaling required.
The glass jug is
not properly placed
underneath the outlet.
Not enough water.
Grind level too fine.
Too little ground coffee
was used.
Paper filter inserted
incorrectly, or collapsed.
Models with aroma
selection switch:
Wrong switch position

Remedy
Connect appliance to mains.
Check the socket with a
different appliance.
Descale the appliance (see
Cleaning and care).
Check that the jug is properly
positioned on the hot-plate,
pushing the outlet valve up.
Replenish water.
Select coarser grind level.
Increase the amount.
Fold down the perforated
sides first before insertion.
