PRESENTATION:
A sliding cable fall prevention system enables the user to remain safe while moving, without unhooking operations on a ladder. The system can be installed on
pylons, or on concrete or metal structures, etc. These systems are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use; for outdoor use the climatic conditions need to be
taken into account (wind, salt spray, etc.).
Depending on the type of installation that you are going to use, the system may comply with the EN353-2 (KS2001) or the EN353-1 (KS6000, KS7000) standards.
EN353-2: Mobile fall prevention system on a flexible anchor line: the installation is fitted with a counterweight on the cable.
EN353-1: Mobile fall prevention system on a rigid anchor line: the installation is fitted with a tensioner on the cable.
In the event of a fall, the system (KS2001, KS6000 or KS7000) immediately stops the fall on the anchor line. These anchor cables must never be used as means of
access or suspension.
To be complete, a sliding cable fall prevention system must include at least: a top anchorage point complying with the EN795 standard, one (or more) intermediate
attachment point(s) (at 8-metre intervals), a bottom anchorage with a cable tensioning system, an anchor line (cable), the sliding fall prevention device and a
warning sign. The maximum vertical inclination of such a system must not exceed ±15°.
These systems must only be installed using components recommended by KRATOS SAFETY and by installers with the necessary expertise for this type of
installation. Before installation, an assessment of the structure's strength and dimensions is crucial. The users' requirements must also be taken into account.
Safety rules must be observed during installation!
In the drawings below, we chose to represent an installation on ladder rungs. The instructions are the same for an installation on ladder stiles.
1-INSTALLATION OF A COMPLETE SYSTEM:

ANCHORAGE POINT:
REFERENCE: FA 20 201 00
Materials: STAINLESS STEEL 316
Fastenings: STAINLESS STEEL (A4-70)
Resistance > 23 kN
Weight: 3.275 kg
The KRATOS SAFETY FA 20 201 00 top anchorage point is designed to be installed on the following support structures:
Fig. A
It should be positioned in the direction in which the load will be applied:
Tools needed:
Two 24 mm ring spanners or open pipe wrenches OR 2 adjustable spanners.
Installation:
Ensure that the structure to which you want to attach the anchorage is able to support the load required: minimum 15 kN.
Prepare the screwing of the 2 threaded rods according to the size of the structure to which the anchorage is to be attached.
Assemble the unit taking care to place the anchorage point downwards in the direction in which the force is likely to be applied
when it is in use, and in such a way that if the anchorage point is loaded there is no risk of rotation, see fig. A and fig. B for the
direction of the plates according to the structure.
The 2 threaded rods should be fitted in the first free holes in the plates, as close as possible to the structure.
Ensure the nuts touch the plates.
Tighten the nuts, making sure that the plates are flush against the structure and parallel with each other.
Finish the tightening each nut simultaneously in "half-turns", making sure that at least 2 threads are visible on each side of the
threaded rods.
TIGHTENING TORQUES: 58 N.m. Caution! Excessive tightening may distort the plates. The fastenings and any accessories supplied are designed to suit your
situation; if in doubt contact us!
When the installation is completed, check that the top point is aligned with any intermediate attachment points and the bottom point.
