NOTE
• The plasma pilot arc is struck by a high frequency pulse when the trigger
(on the manual torch) is actuated and after a gas pre-flow time.
Exception: PSB 31 equipped with KZS or KKS
• Upon starting the pilot arc (via the soft start device), the cutting nozzle
must not touch the work-piece.
• Use the accessories for optimum cutting nozzle distance from the work-
piece.
• The cutting arc is ignited on the work-piece. The cutting jet is interrupted
when contact to the workpiece is discontinued or the control voltage is
interrupted when the trigger is pressed.
• Please observe the required gas post-flow time for cooling the torch.
1 Switch off the cutting power source.
2 Close the compressed air valve.

For the entire duration of maintenance, servicing, dismounting and repair
work, the following instructions must be adhered to:
• Switch off the power source and close off the gas supply.
• Pull the mains plug.
1 Check screwings for tight fit and wearing parts for visible damage and
replace them, if necessary.

2 Clean the cutting torch body regularly to remove cutting spatter.
3 Ensure elastic function and proper fit of the fuse terminal. If required, clean
the contact faces of the fuse terminal and the torch contact pins to ensure a
reliable contact, and replace them, if necessary.
