Press the steering lever; turn the brush to the desired
angle, release the steering lever and the catch will fall
correctly into place. (Fig. 7)
Idle speed
Set throttle control lever to its "SLOW" position to re-
duce stress on the engine when working is not being
performed. Lowering the engine speed to idle the en-
gine will help extend the life of the engine, as well as
conserve fuel and reduce the noise level of the machine.
Stopping engine
To stop the engine in an emergency, simply turn the en-
gine switch to the OFF position. Under normal condi-
tions, use the following procedure.
1. Move the throttle lever to the SLOW position.
2. Let engine idle for one or two minutes.
3. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
4. Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF position.
m Do not move chock lever to the CLOSE position to
stop engine. Backfire or engine damage may occur.
Maintenance
A proper maintenance and lubrication will help the ma-
chine in a perfect working condition.
Preventive maintenance
Turn off engine and disengage all command levers. En-
gine must be cool. Disconnect the spark plug cap from
the spark plug.
Inspect the general condition of the unit. Check for
loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts,
cracked or broken parts, and any other condition that
may affect its safe operation.
Remove all debris and other materials that may have ac-
cumulated to the brush. Clean after each use.
Then use a premium quality lightweight machine oil to
lubricate all moving parts.
m Never use a "pressure washer" to clean your unit.
Water can penetrate tight areas of the machine and
its transmission case and cause damage to spindles,
gears, bearings, or the engine. The use of pressure
washers will result in shortened life and reduce ser-
viceability.
Adjusting Height of gauge wheels and brush, Fig. 8-9
Once the brush gets worn it is necessary to adjust the
height of the brush .i.e. how close it is to the surface
to sweep. This adjustment takes place by adjustment
of gauge wheels. The brush has two adjustable gauge
wheels. The vertical adjustment of the gauge wheels is
done by the placement of a series of plastic rings above
or below the mounting tube. The suggested adjustment
for the gauge wheels is the point at which the brush
sweeps 5cm or 10cm of surface area when the machine
is parked. The number of top and lower plastic rings is
to be the same for both sides.
Dismount the gauge wheels and remove one plastic ring
from the bottom (No.1).Mount the wheels again (No.2).
This lift up the gauge wheels and the brush will come
closer to the surface. Finally, mount the plastic ring,
sleeve and locking ring (No.3).
Adjusting levers
As levers get worn, it could have a wider opening, be-
ing so uneasy to use. This means that it is necessary to
adjust the cables, set levers on their original positions
and tighten up.
Lubrication
The gearbox is pre-lubricated and sealed at the factory.
Check oil level every 50 hours of working. Remove the
plug and check, with machine horizontal, oil reaches the
two notches. If necessary, add the oil.
Use portable tool SAE80-W90/GL4.
Engine Oil
Check the oil level before each use. Remove the plug
and check for horizontal machine that the oil level is be-
tween the two marks. If necessary, add to oil.
Engine oil change
The oil must every 50 hours and replaced with the en-
gine still warm. This can possibly run a short time the
engine. Then allow the oil to drain into a container ap-
propriate video by the Öleinfüllöffnungsdeckel and the
drain plug is removed. May take a suitable hose or tube
to help. After the oil has completely drained, replace the
filler cap and fill with fresh oil.
Recommended engine oil
SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40 (depending on application
temperature).
Replace Oil-Bath (Fig. 13)
Clean the filter every 50 hours.
1.
Remove the wing nut (1), the air cleaner cap (2)
and cover (3).
2.
Remove the air filter (4) from the cover (3), wash
the cover (3) and filter (4) in warm, soapy water,
rinse them with clear water and dry all thoroughly.
3.
Dip the filter (4) in clean engine oil and then
squeeze out all excess oil. The engine will smoke
if too much oil is left in the foam. This can damage
the motor after time.
4.
Empty the used oil from the air cleaner case (6)
and wash out with nonflammable liquid and dry the
case.
5.
Fill the air cleaner case (6) till the oil level mark (7)
with motor oil. Approx. oil capacity: 0,06 l
6.
Reassemble the air cleaner in reverse chronology.
Important hint in case of sending the equipment to a
service station:
Due to security reasons please see to it that the equip-
ment is sent back free of oil and gas!
