Installation of the regulator
Keep hands clean before manipulate the pressure reducer.
Secure the bottle against overturn or fall.
Mount the input connector, corresponding to the gas used, on the regulator without forgetting the
PTFE sealing tape. Set up the regulator on the cylinder (valve closed) or on the pneumatic system. Do
not overtighten. Check that the sealing gasket (washer) is present on the bottle connector.
Mount the output connector without forgetting the PTFE sealing tape.
For the tightening torque for mounting fittings: see table in § 3.
Connect on the customer connector.
Unscrew the handwheel of the regulator and check that the downstream circuit is closed.
Slowly open the stop valve - Check the pressure on the supply pressure gauge.
Screw slowly the handwheel of the regulator until appears a flow.
Check the sealing of the complete assembly, and particularly examine all connections in order to
detect the presence of any leaks.
WARNING : Never attempt to tighten a connector under pressure.
Close the supply valve - Purge the unit - Unscrew the handwheel of the regulator.
The gauge has no leverage function and should never be used to remove the regulator from the
cylinder.
4.4
Use of the regulator
Check that the handwheel of the regulator is unscrewed.
Slowly open the stop valve - Check the pressure on the supply pressure gauge.
Screw slowly the handwheel of the regulator until the desired pressure is obtained- Check that the
gas exits the device.
Use the downstream device.
After using, close the supply valve, check that the gas no longer flows from the unit, then unscrew
the handwheel of the regulator.
Check the zero reading on the pressure gauge.
After use, do not let the pressure in the regulator, leave debited by the downstream device.
Type of malfunction
Gas flow inadequate or
non-existent
Connection not
possible
Gas exits from safety
valve
Gas exits from vent
holes
Frosting
