Preparing to measure your blood pressure
In cases of poor blood circulation or
severe arteriosclerosis, it is not appro-
priate to take measurements at the
wrist. In these instances the blood pres-
sure should be taken at the upper arm.
When measuring, the wrist must
be held at the same height as the
heart!
The blood pressure measurement
should not prevent the flow of blood for
an unnecessary length of time (> 2 minu-
tes). If the monitor fails to function cor-
rectly, remove the unit from the wrist.
Excessively frequent measurements
can cause injury by restricting blood
flow.
