Bypass valve
A bypass valve is a shutoff or throttling valve that is used to bypass another component. The
bypass valve is installed in a pipe that bypasses the other component. Installing such a valve has
the following purpose:
• Safeguarding a minimum flow
• Protection from excessive pressure
• Maintenance option without having to switch off the entire hydraulic system
Single pipe heating
In a one pipe heating system hot water flows through radiators one after the other.
Dual pipe heating
In a dual pipe heating system hot water flows through radiators via separate supply and return
pipes.
Remote control unit
Thermostats with remote control units are particularly suitable if the control panel is positioned in
a hard-to-reach area.
Heating circuit
The heating circuit specifies the hot water circuit within a heating system (in this case surface
temperature balance).
