8. Using the appliance
Wear hearing protection, protective goggles, sturdy shoes and tight-fitting work
clothes while operating the appliance.
WARNING!
Risk of injury/property damage.
Do not use the appliance if the appliance, housing,
accessories or mains cable/extension cable exhibit
visible damage or if the on/off switch does not work
properly.
Never reach under the appliance or under the
grass catcher cover and keep your feet clear of the
underside of the appliance.
Keep people and animals at least 10 metres away
from the working area.
Before starting work, check the site for any foreign
objects or animals and remove any items that could
be thrown up and/or damage the cutting tool.
Keep in mind that the cutting tool runs on after
switching off. Do not carry out any cleaning,
adjustment or maintenance until the blade has come
to a complete standstill.
Always hold the mains cable out of the working area
and guide it to the rear away from the appliance.
Connect the appliance to a safety socket using the extension cable (see also
section "6.3. Connecting the extension cable").
Switch on the appliance by pressing in the locking button (6) so that you can
pull up the on/off lever (7) on the handle.
Keep the on/off lever pulled up during operation.
As soon as the on/off lever is released, the appliance switches off.
