Adjusting height of backrest
The height of the backrest may be adjusted in 4 posi-
tions from 38 cm – 46 cm.
Please note: When adjusting the height of the back-
rest, the push handles are adjusted as well. Loosen the
knurled nut on the left and right side, on the bottom of
the guide tube attached to the backrest. (Picture 10).
Remove the screws. Adjust the height by pushing or
pulling the push handles into the correct position. Install
the screws and tighten the knurled nut.
Make sure, that both sides are adjusted correctly
and on the same height.
Activate fixing brakes and use
When delivered, the fixing brakes are correctly adjusted
to the configuration condition. If you changed the posi-
tion of the wheel, the position of the brake might need
to be adjusted as well. To do so, remove the screws on
the bottom of the brake (Picture 11) and move the whole
unit, so that the space between the pivot bolt and the
wheel is as big as 10 mm (Picture 12). Tighten the two
screws for an optimal setting.
Make sure, that the screws are inserted and tigh-
tened properly!
Push the brake lever forwards in order to apply and acti-
vate the brakes (Picture 13) until it engages. Pull the lever
towards you in order to loosen the brake (Picture 14).
Make sure the fixing brakes are locked by moving
the wheelchair.
Adjusting and using hand brake (optional)
When delivered, the hand brake is adjusted properly for
the accompanying person.
If the braking effect isn't strong enough the adjusting
screw may be loosened or tightened for less braking
effect (Picture 15), loosen the lock nut before adjusting
the braking effect as explained. Make sure to tighten
the lock nut after adjusting, hold the adjusting screw
with pliers.
In order to brake the wheelchair, the accompanying per-
son must pull the braking handles towards the pushing
handles. You can lock the braking handles by pushing
the lock flap down with your finger until it locks, in order
to lock the brakes for example: for parking (Picture 16),
to unlock and release the brakes, simply pull the flap
back (Picture 17).
If you want to get up from the wheelchair you must
activate the fixing brakes additional to the hand
brake.
