Dehy – dehydration
∙ For thawing or drying food
∙ Spread the food on the dehydration rack or the wire grill (larger parts) and insert
it into the device:
∙ The temperatures at the shelf levels are slightly different. At the upper level, the
temperature is highest.
∙ Select the basic program with the program selector (No. 4).
∙ Basic program: 12 h, 60°C,
∙ To change the settings: The temperature / timer controller (No. 5) can be used
to select the temperature between 30 and 80°C. Press the control (No. 5) again to
select the time between 60 min and 24 hours.
∙ Press start / stop to start the program.
∙ The set time begins to count down.
∙ If several racks are used for drying, their position at the shelf levels should be
changed after half of the preparation time.
Preparation
The quality of the dried products is as good as that of the raw food. Therefore, only
use washed and fresh fruits and vegetables. Please do not use overripe food! Remove
all cores, stalks and stones. Do not peel fruits.
Cut the food in equal pieces – thin slices dry faster. To avoid discoloration, brush the
fruits with lemon juice. Place the food with the cut side up on the tray – the food
may not be superimposed and the distance between the pieces must be chosen in a
manner that air can circulate sufficiently.
As food dries differently, place congeneric fruits or vegetable on one tray only. A
ready dried tray can be withdrawn during the drying process, or a new tray can be
added. Vegetable with a firm structure should be blanched for 2 minutes in hot wa-
ter.
