5. Transport and start up
5.1 Transport and installation
The machine is designed to operate in
closed rooms and must be placed
stable on firm and levelled ground.
The machine can be bolted down if
required.
5.2 Assembly
If you notice transport damage while
unpacking, notify your supplier
immediately. Do not operate the
machine!
Dispose of the packing in an
environmentally friendly manner.
Clean all rust protected surfaces with
a mild solvent.
For packing reasons the machine is
not completely assembled and comes
in 2 boxes.
Box 1:
Contains the main sander body.
Unbolt the wood retainers from the
machine base rails.
Note: Save bolts and washers that
held shipping plywood to sander base.
These bolts and washers are needed
to attach the sander to the stand.
Attach the knob (1, Fig1) to the height
adjustment handle.
Fig 1
Box 2:
Contains the power feed conveyor and
stand.
Assemble the machine stand (align
stand to be leveled and tighten all
bolts).
To install the sander to the stand, use
the same four bolts and washers that
held shipping plywood to the sander
body. Bolt together form underneath.
(avoid twisting of the sander base as
this will effect conveyor belt tracking).
Install the conveyor belt trackers (Fig
2) on the bottom of the power feed.
They dramatically reduce belt tracking
adjustments.
Fig 2
Install the power feed conveyor to the
main sander body.
Connect the motor cord to the control
box.
To open the dust cover push in the
knob (4, Fig3) and lift.
Fig 3
Align the sanding drum to be parallel
to the conveyor bed (see chapter 7.4)
Install the sanding paper (see chapter
7.1).
Lower the sanding drum until it
touches the sanding bed and zero the
indicator (1, Fig3) in regards to the
height scale (2, Fig3).

5.3 Mains connection
Mains connection and any extension
cords used must comply with
applicable regulations.
The mains voltage must comply with
the information on the machine
licence plate.
The mains connection must have a 16
A surge-proof fuse.
Only use power cords marked
H07RN-F
Connections and repairs to the
electrical equipment may only be
carried out by qualified electricians.
In case of machine overload the motor
overload cut-off will react.
After appr.2 min of cooling the
overload cut off can be reset.
Attention: The machine will start
when you reset the overload push
button.
5.4 Dust connection
Before initial operation, the machine
must be connected to a dust extractor.
The suction should switch on
automatically when the sander is
switched on.
The flow rate on the 100mm suction
port must be 20m/sec.
Flexible hoses must be of non-
flammable quality, and must be
connected to the machine ground
system.
5.5 Starting operation
You can start the sanding drum with
the green on button (2, Fig1) on the
control box. The red button on the
control box stops the motor.
The federate control knob (3, Fig1)
starts the conveyor and selects the
feed rate from 0 to 100% (0 – 3
m/min)
The height adjustment handle raises
or lowers the sanding drum to the
selected depth of cut.
6. Machine operation
Correct operating position:
To feed the workpiece into the
machine, position yourselves offset to
one side of the feed opening.
Workpiece handling:
Feed stock form the infeed side and
against the rotation of the drum.
It will then be automatically fed
through the machine.
