POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)
Air entering into the
hydraulic system.
Release valve is not
tight.
Lift overloaded.
Hydraulic system is
contaminated with
particulates.
The piston and
cylinder seals are
not lubricated or
blocked.
Pump pressure is
insufficient.
Release valve is not
tight.
Hydraulic system is
contaminated with
particulates.
Insufficient
hydraulic oil in the
cylinder.
SUGGESTED SOLUTION(S)
Unscrew the vent screw, and
purge the hydraulic system
of trapped air.
Tighten the release valve
Reduce load (see
Specifications).
Service the hydraulic system
and replace hydraulic oil.
1. Check the cylinder intake
valve for blockage. Add a
small amount of lubricant
to the intake valve before
resealing.
2. Purge the hydraulic
system of air.
Increase the air pressure to
the pump, but ensure it does
not exceed the maximum
pressure rating (see
Specifications).
Tighten the release valve.
Service the hydraulic system
and replace hydraulic oil.
Add hydraulic oil until
cylinder is full. Purge air from
the hydraulic system, then
top up the oil.
