mediately if a thunderstorm is approaching. Caution: Above a certain wind strength it is impossible to sail against the wind with
muscle power (due to the wind load on the boat); the kayak will then drift! Therefore, before going out on the water, check the
local water and weather conditions and the weather forecast, and always keep an eye on the weather situation during the trip.
- Familiarize yourself with local regulations, especially boating traffic rules, before going out on the water.
- When paddling, be careful not to get your feet caught in the attachment cord or carrying handle.
- Do not use the kayak if it has a leak and is losing air. After repairing the leak, make sure that the kayak holds air (see below,
chapter "Repair").
- Thoroughly inform persons to whom you give the kayak about these safety instructions before handing it over and always give
this instruction manual with it.
- The kayak must not be pulled by other vehicles at high speed (comparable to water skiing / fun banana).
- The kayak is approved for a maximum filling pressure of 0.15 bar (2.18 psi). At higher pressure, the material will be overstret-
ched and may tear, even at a later stage (danger to life at sea).
- Use only the enclosed pump for inflation. Do not use a compressor.
- Never expose the inflated kayak to direct sunlight for a long time when not in use. The pressure in the kayak could increase
and the material could crack or become porous.
- Check the kayak for pressure loss, holes or cracks before each use.
- Substantial modifications and additional installations to the kayak may affect safety and should be avoided.
- Do not use harsh detergents or solvents to clean the kayak.
- Clean and dry the kayak thoroughly after each use, especially after use in salt water.
- Do not carry sharp objects when using the kayak to avoid damaging the kayak.
- Be careful of your surroundings. Rocky shore, jetties, coral reefs can damage the kayak.
- Make sure you have rescue equipment (e.g. life jackets, distress signals, spare parts).
- If you are very exhausted, have yourself towed. Use a tow line to get pulled to shore.
- Use a kayak leash. This is attached to the D-ring at the end of the kayak and attached to the rider's body.
- When entering or exiting the kayak. Keep your weight centered and distribute the weight of the loads and passenger evenly
DANGER TO LIFE: DANGER OF DROWNING!
- No rafting and competitive sports: The kayak must never be used for trips in white water (rafting) as well as on fast flowing waters
and waters with rapids, as it does not have the necessary stability for this and can capsize! Danger of drowning and serious injuries!
- The kayak is not a buoyancy aid and not a life-saving device and does not provide protection against drowning in case of loss of pressure!
- During trips, always move away from the nearest shore only so far that all occupants of the kayak could swim back under their
own power in an emergency!
- If used incorrectly, especially if the weight distribution in the kayak is very one-sided, the kayak may capsize.
RISK OF INJURY
- The fin has sharp edges due to its design. Please take care not to injure yourself when transporting the kayak and please point
out the risk of injury to other users.
- When transporting and using the kayak, be aware of other people and keep your distance. People, especially children, can get
caught in the kayak's cords and safety lines and strangle themselves.
- Wear a thermal suit when paddling the kayak in colder temperatures.
- Protect yourself from sunburn when the sun is strong (sunscreen, T-shirt and headgear).
DAMAGE HAZARDS
- The outer skin of the kayak can be damaged if it comes into contact with other objects and materials.
- Keep away from rocky shores, piers or shoals with the kayak.
- Do not carry pointed or sharp objects when carrying or using the kayak.
- Do not allow oils, corrosive liquids or chemicals such as household cleaners, battery acid or fuels to come into contact with the outer skin.
