If you have purchased this unit as a
replacement for an old unit, please dispose of your
old unit in accordance with the legal requirements.
Before disposing of the appliance, it must be
rendered unusable by cutting off the power supply
cable. For disposal, the appliance must be taken to
the appropriate collection points.
4. Hints and general advice
a) Before cleaning or maintenance work, the power
supply to the cooker bonnet must be disconnected
by removing the plug or switching off / unscrewing
the fuse.
b) The air drawn in by the extractor bonnet must not
be discharged via the exhaust pipe of the heater
or other non-electrically operated appliances.
c) No flambéed dishes were to be prepared under
the extractor bonnet. The open flame could
destroy the bonnet or even cause a cake fire.
d) When frying food, never leave the pan unattended
as the fat could catch fire.
e) Constant maintenance ensures proper operation
and optimum performance of the cooker bonnet.
f) Make sure that the room is sufficiently ventilated.
g) Clean the dirty surfaces regularly to remove
incrustations.
h) Clean or replace the filter regularly.

compliance with the local regulations by a qualified

6. Using the cooker bonnet
6.1 Safety instructions for use
grease filters must always be in place when the
cooker bonnet is in operation, otherwise grease
vapour can build up in the bonnet and the exhaust
system.
With gas cookers, make sure that the cooking
zones are not operated without cooking
utensils.
In the case of open gas flames, parts of the
appliance can be damaged by the rising heat.
Flambéing under the cooker bonnet is not
permitted because of the risk of fire. The rising
flame can ignite the fat deposited in the filter.
Deep-frying or working with oils and fats under
the extractor bonnet may only be carried out
under constant supervision due to the risk of fire.
Attention! The risk of self-detonation increases if
the oil is used several times.
Other work with an open flame is not permitted.
They could damage the filter(s) or other parts of
the unit or even cause a fire.
6.2 In exhaust air mode:
The air drawn in is blown outdoors through the
exhaust air hose.
For this purpose, your house must have an exhaust air
shaft or an exhaust air pipe leading to the outside.
If the extractor bonnet is operated with
exhaust air and if chimney-dependent firing
systems (e.g. coal-fired stoves) are used, sufficient
fresh air must be supplied to the room where the
appliance is installed. In any case, consult the
responsible chimney sweep.
If there is no permanently installed exhaust pipe or no
exhaust vent, you must convert the extractor bonnet
to recirculation mode.
