Further information
PM2.5
Fine dust is also known as PM2.5. This refers to the size of the dust particles, half of
which at PM2.5 are particles with a diameter of 2.5µm and a smaller proportion of larger
particles and a larger proportion of smaller particles.
The size of the fine dust is usually less than that of a bacterium and can therefore not be
seen with the naked eye.

Filter system:
Prefilter
The main filter has a pre-filter cover. This is a relatively wide-meshed filter which catches
the coarsest particles from the air flowing through it. This process additionally protects
the HEPA filter element from these particles and thus increases the service life of the
HEPA filter.
HEPA Filter
In order to remove even the smallest particles, the room air flows through a HEPA filter
during the cleaning process, which absorbs pollen, fine dust and spores among other
things.
Activated charcoal filter
In the next step, the air now freed of solids is filtered through an activated carbon filter.
processed. In this working process odours and toxins are absorbed. Here
granulated activated carbon, as this has a high degree of efficiency and a large
total surface area.
Photocatalytic filter
With the help of this filter odours and bacteria can be fought effectively. Organic
compounds are broken down by means of the photocatalytic effect produced by
irradiation with UV light. Oxygen atoms are attached to organic compounds and gradually
broken down into H2O and
Ultraviolet light
Besides the activation of the photocatalysis filter, the ultraviolet radiation has a
disinfecting effect. Thus bacteria and viruses are killed by the irradiation with UV light.
Ionizer
In the last step, the air that finally flows out of the device is mixed with a small amount
of
of negatively charged ions. These ions are deposited in the room air on the smallest
particles
and charge them statically. The charged particles then tend to accumulate with other
particles and form larger clusters which can then be more easily absorbed by the filter
medium.
