How often should your
electrode be calibrated?
Always calibrate in fresh buffer solution.
THE ELECTRODE
IS USED:
Perform a two-buffer calibra-

tion. In this way, the electrode
sensitivity is checked each
day. If high precision is required,
make a second one-buffer
calibration during the day.
Note the calibration data
in the GLP·LOGBOOK.
Once a week
Use the same procedure as

for daily calibration.
New electrode: If a new electrode is to be
used without previous soak-

calibration should be
performed between each
measurement, as the electrode
signal tends to drift.
1)
Soaking: please refer to
your electrode instructions.
RECOMMENDATION:
We recommend stirring both when calibrating
and when measuring.
Radiometer Analytical's accessories pro-
gramme also includes certified standards.
Please refer to page 54.
Storing the electrode:
Between daily measurements: Distilled water
Overnight:
GK2401B - pHC2011/15: pH 4 buffer – All others: 3M KCl (KS110)
Storing for more than 4 days: GK2401B, pHC2011/15: dry storage – All others: store dry or in
saturated KCl
RECOMMENDATION:
For non-dry storage, remember to close the refilling hole on electrode.
How often should you clean
your electrode?
The frequency of cleaning is highly dependent on
the samples in which the electrode has been
used, but the following is recommended:
Cleaning the OUTSIDE: Cleaning the INSIDE:

RECOMMENDATION:
When you follow the cleaning recommenda-
tions, the electrode sensitivity will remain high
for a prolonged period thus increasing the
lifetime of the electrode. Time is saved if the
electrode is always in optimal measuring
condition.
