Help for USB connectivity issues during setup (Windows)
If the software is unable to find your printer during setup, check the following conditions to resolve
the issue.

1. Try searching again and wait patiently. The software can only find the
printer after the drivers have been fully installed. This might take up to
10 minutes.
2. To check the driver installation status:
a. Open Control Panel on your Windows computer.
b. Select Devices and Printers and find your new printer. A loading
icon will be displayed during installation. When installation is
complete, you will get a Windows notification.
3. Return to the HP software and search again.
4. Select the printer when it appears. Follow the instructions in the
software to complete setup.
If the HP software is still unable to find the printer after following the above
steps:
1. Make sure your computer operating system is up to date.
If an update is available, install the latest version.
• If your update preference is turned off, turn on computer updates.
• An older version of the operating system might take longer to install
drivers.
• You might need to restart your computer after the update.
2. After the update, open the HP software and select Add Printer to search
again.
3. Select the printer when it appears. Follow the instructions in the
software to complete setup.
